Pingu Posted July 25, 2009 Author Share Posted July 25, 2009 Well thought give little update we have started cutting has very much been stop start mix of the weather and breakdowns with combine to the extent we getting demos in off other makes with the axial flow and deere being priority. This has mainly been due to dealers saying combine was ready but no were near it called out 5 times to sort things out we discovered while getting ready and recently its chewing the chopper belt total 4 times so far with it happening around half 6 one time and rang local dealers they said no-one will be out to you till tomorrow at earliest (due to to late a call out) to say we were annoyed is understatment so it was parked next to main road so everyone could see there flagship machine is broken down But they have done 4 mods now to it each time belt has gone and its still not right But still here some pics of hay harvest with claas on row crops cause otherwise mower wont fit on. Pingu Posted July 26, 2009 Author Share Posted July 26, 2009 Well quick update we broke down again today but this time it's fairly major we think a bearings gone in either a rotor or on drum as machine will shake violently to the point you see all the pullys move we started taking it apart to find out but thought screw its dealers problem not ours as again they wouldn't come out. I know it's a sunday but challenger dearler came out today and so was deere one. Had the Case combine yet Phill? Any good if so? Not yet Ol but boss highly rates them already so and is already pricing two up (high chance we'll have another 700-1000acres) so could be interesting see what happens on that front Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Bet they'd be happy to help on a Sunday for a bit of beer money That is the trouble with singular, modern, large machines. You've trouble fixing them on the farm and when they go down your output is nil. I know of a chap who swapped in three TX60 series for one Lexion 600. It's first season saw it parked up with complete hydraulic system failure! Sometimes wonder if going forward is a backward step you know. Erm we use branch braintree way cant belive they aint doing sunday working now, i know my uncle is for the jd dealer he works for Stupid I know woulda thought all lads were in not just foreman on phone's Never truer word spoken tris thats why if we get extra land were is looking at running 2 combines so that at least one will be running if other has problems. Heard that first hand from someone who works for them. Sad that that branch is like that Phill as our local branch are very good, thats one reason why so many people have been buying Claas stuff round here. However surely the dealer should be open weekends and evenings during harvest, the lime green company does call itself the harvest specialists and that means 24/24 7 days a week in my opinion. A customer could expect to be charged more for a 2am call out but if that's what's needed to get the harvest in then the dealer should be there. Pingu Posted August 2, 2009 Author Share Posted August 2, 2009 Cheers for nice comments everyone But the 600 is no longer under warranty as it's an 05 plate so one of the very first aka it was badged a 580 for 2 seasons Well for an update we had a Case axial flow 9120 out on demo and it was brilliant absolutly flew and were pleased with it so very strong possibility. Seems to be fairly standard place in UK Ol never seen them over front axle and plus helps cut down the amount of wires to cab as this one runs a motor on steering wheel its not plumbed into steering but not yet used it as subscription wasnt working when I was on it and its a trimble system on there But our neighbour grows just shy of 900 acres so fair old amount of them around here :) just caught up with this topic, you seem to be enjoying youe work, whats the case chipped to???
