jsedelweiss
Hi Has anybody got any information on this? Its a FoMoCo trailer light wich plugs into the two pin plug on the old tractors like the dexta etc. If anybody has any pictures on brouchers or any information i will be very happy to hear. Also is it right for a dexta? Is it the right year or is it later?
powerrabbit
These 'marker' lights were also made by Lucas to clip over your car window to use as a parking light back in the 50's and 60's. Is 'FoMoCo' on the light or the metal base? The 'logo' stands for Ford Motor Company.
jsedelweiss
I Would have though it would have the logo on it but carn't look at the moment. So you would say that it would be the right year then for a dexta.
05rich
if as powerrabbit said it was from the 50's and 60's then yes it should be the right year for a dexta. It really depends on the exact date of the light and the tractor though
jsedelweiss
Yes, well my dexta is 1962 but i don't know how you would go about dating this so i posted it on here to see if anyone could shed any light on it.
Gav836
You could always send the seller who's listed the item on ebay a message and ask if there are any FoMoCo markings or other markings on it.........
jsedelweiss
I will do that, see what he says.

powerrabbit
Didn't realise it was on eBay. The seller is a little inventive in his description hoping to 'cash-in' on the vintage tractor aspect, it's nothing to do with a tractor, it's as I said, a parking light for older cars of the period. Hangs on the top of the drivers door window with the 2-pin plug in a socket that would have come with it originaly, has a low voltage bulb in it so that if you parked your car on an unlit street or road you used it instead of leaving your sidelights on all night and draining the battery. You still see them quite regularly at autojumbles, rallies and car boots.
jsedelweiss
So its not for a tractor?
powerrabbit
In a word, no.
Lord Ferguson
thanks for the information Tim... most valuable as well (the information.. not the lamp)... I'm sure it's of no use to anyone on here now then... at least that clears that up anyway
archbarch
i remember the 2 pin socket fitted to Ford tractors for the trailer lights, but never saw the light units themselves simply because you never needed lights years ago.
