it's up to the driver where he puts the cab mate but it's easier to see how the loadings going from that height , also means he can see any brace bars in the trailer when tipping the bucket without hitting them

Certainly odd at first glance but then in this environment I am sure it is fairly beneficial. Seen plenty of scrap handling depots with the wheeled excavators with this kind of cab function. This is a first though, I wonder how many of these there are in the UK.

Havn't been down to Poole harbour for ages, Marcus. Used to drop Charcon paving on the wharf there for shipping to the Channel Islands. Used to love that little job from Leighton Buzzard down to Poole....
