It's also a no from me, I have spoke to him a bit on MSN and he can be a nice lad, although when he's on here he changes in to something completely different and thinks he has lots of power etc and that he can say what he likes when he likes. Now like Marky said, he likes his hobby just as well as we do, and banning a fellow tractorfan doesn't seem right, but for all the time, trouble and abuse we have encountered I think for the best we don't let him back on until he has matured, he is only young, 13 I think  ??? But at 13 I never would of dreamed of talking to elders in the way he does.

Really is a shame...

Banning someone from accessing the site may be in breach of their rights.

Did we agree to terms and conditions when we all registered, I can`t remember?

If we did was this covered in them?

In my experience you have to be very  carefull in these situations.

You cannot just ban people if they have not been offered an agreement of site rules.

that is what some kids are like these days powerstar, i get told by the missus the kids she teaches just don't have the respect for anything that we would have had when we were at school, they turn up late, unprepared etc. for lessons. A lot of the problem starts at the home and cant be controlled at school as teaches don't have the power anymore. You discipline a kid, he'll cry to his/her parents and then the school gets a law suit etc..................sorry went a bit OT there!

There are three posts involving Jamie now, we have all expressed our views, some middle of the road, some sympathetic and some out and out against him being a member. The Moderators are here to keep a look out for any wrong doing and should I be silly enough to ever need a point in the right direction I'll damn well take heed and buck up. It appears for whatever reason Jamie didn't do so and it resulted in a ban. Fair enough. Andy, gave him a chance which I don't see any problem with but nor do I see in a problem in the people most affected by his antics expressing their wishes for him not to be allowed back in. I had a middle of the road view, behave, take a bit of advice and tread carefully. He was annoying but hadn't done anything to directly insult me afterall. But the damage was done and it sounds to me that Doc will take a fair bit of stick but if you push, he'll push back. If everything I have read is true then I am not surprised Doc and other Moderators chose to enforce the ban.

Those that post often enough all give eachother a bit of stick, it's the way of our nation and if anyone feels they have been insulted in anyway I am sure it could be resolved between the two members involved. At least, I'd like to think if I pi$$ anyone off they would feel a simple PM to me to say so would be enough to say "oi, c'mon play game" and vice versa.

Jamie has now gone, we have all now seen that the rules are to be stuck to and maybe it's time these topics were remove/locked and the subject closed?

Well said now change the subject

hang on i havn't put my two penith in yet

now then ..................um.....................................er.........................ah .......well

wether this is for jamie or not ,it really concerns everyone who decides to join us,  the rules & guideline are there read or not just from flicking through the posts it's pretty simple to work out the content here .

it was obvious to me when i first joined that some of the conversations were OT  & that you were all comfortable with the stick you gave to each other because of the freindships between you all ,it's like any meeting or club & the members here make you feel welcome  i just went with the flow & sort of joined in (i think the pedal pics helped )

within his first posts here he was having a pop at me, he started arguing the toss about things i'd done ,for a 13 year old who'd done nothing, he had a lot to say unfortunately it wasn't

constructive

with age comes experience & all kids that age want to be one up on the other he just picked on the wrong people to try it with . easy to do i spose as farm TOY forum doesn't really conjure up the vision of late teens > middle aged men,oh yeah & mad mother hubbard playing with toy tractors

he'll learn  :)

you can close this now  ;D

A few mixed opinions here and all are valid points that are being made.......

A few questions for you.......

Q: If you were warned to calm down your behaviour, what would you do??

A; You would calm it down if you had any respect for those around you.

Q; If you were asked to only post if you had a constructive reply to answer with, would you do this or carry on pointlessly posting with "kl" "ha ha!" "yer" ??

A: surely you would do as you were asked??

Q; If a moderator asked you to take head of warnings you had already received about numerous matters, surely you would do this wouldn't you OR would you reply with an abusive message and expect it to be OK to do this??

A; surely you would do as you were asked if you wanted to stay a member??

Q; If after many warnings about numerous matters you were given a short ban to cool off, would you wait it out and then be glad to get back on-line or would you register under another name and then blatantly flaunt the fact you had done this thinking you were smart??

A: Surely you would wait it out and hope you were allowed back.

These are just a few pointers from a long list.

Many of us on here stray onto the line regularly, myself included...... but if asked to calm it down we all would I'm sure. The attitude on here is very relaxed and that is the way we like it, Nothing wrong with a bit of OT or mickey taking and as time goes by we all realise who is here for a bit of a relaxed ride and who are the more serious members. As long as we all respect each other this forum will work well......... respect for others is a major key to this forums success.

Jamie showed us all he had none whatsoever and this is the main reason for his departure.

Rest assured, anyone who strays over the line once too often will be warned and asked to tone it down, for someone to be banned means they have most likely received several warnings or they have made a serious breach of forum rules.

The FarmToys Forum team.
