JoshParkinson Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 Well i got this idea from Dominic's (Dmarshallmodels)' Massey Ferguson 2805 pulling tractor (which is in Latest Tractor Conversions for anybody interested) so i decided i would have a go at a John Deere one instead, i wanted to base it on the picture below but i didn't have a spare 7920 lying around, so i went with a 7530 instead which i already have in bits. So last night i scraped all the bits together, put them to one side and made a start this morning, i got the front axle put on and painted the front rims, now i'm just painting the whole thing the same colour green then just going to pick out the details, although it will need another couple of coats to get it right. DMarshallModels Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 what wheels are u for usein on back and front Lad? Quote
JoshParkinson Posted August 7, 2011 Author Posted August 7, 2011 Back i'm using some old (I think) lego wheels! they are pretty fat and realistic so i have just painted them and got to put an axle on them and you won't know any different, then the front are marston trailer wheels on a volvo bm axle i found. JoshParkinson Posted August 7, 2011 Author Posted August 7, 2011 All the bits. And then for Dominic, the rims painted up. Quote
DMarshallModels Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 i think u should have made bonnet longer mate \ Quote
JoshParkinson Posted August 7, 2011 Author Posted August 7, 2011 i think u should have made bonnet longer mate \ i could, but i reckon once i get the 2wd axle on her and considering it doesn't have a cab anymore, i reckon the bonnet will look plenty big enough. Quote
JoshParkinson Posted August 8, 2011 Author Posted August 8, 2011 Okay so ermm, it's kinda gone wrong. After spraying yesterday everything came out alright except the bonnet, and i really can't be bothered to argue with it and waste the rest of my rattle can, especially when it's £10 for 400ml. So if anybody has a Siku John Deere 7530 bonnet or Britains John Deere 7920/7930 bonnet then PM me. Quote
JoshParkinson Posted August 27, 2011 Author Posted August 27, 2011 Done a bit more today, wish i had put a bigger set of wheels on it as it sits a bit low to the ground but never mind, then i have resprayed the bonnet (thanks to blt for the 7930 bonnet) and put the stack on it. Quote
weblet375 Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 that looks very good indeed keep em coming dude. Quote
Blue man Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 Looks tidy man If it was me thogh I would use a different exhaust and larger rear wheels Quote
JoshParkinson Posted August 29, 2011 Author Posted August 29, 2011 Cheers, and the exhaust was the only thing i have, and i know about the wheels i've already thought about that, i'm suprised nobody has picked up on the roll bar yet, i completely forgot Quote

JoshParkinson Posted August 29, 2011 Author Posted August 29, 2011 How about a circular pencil sprayed in the proper colour?? That's a good idea, although it's done now so i think i'm just going to leave it really, i'll get the roll bar made up at some point then i'll have another look and i might use a pencil not sure though Quote

JoshParkinson Posted August 30, 2011 Author Posted August 30, 2011 Ahh looking forward to it mate, the only thing i would recommend to anybody wishing to do it in the future is that they use the Joal valmet pulling tractor and just convert it, that's what i wish i did now. Quote
