Now although there were many lovely engines tractors, cars and lorries at the Fair the next two exhibts would have shared..."Best to take home trophy" since they were made by their owners.

Seems to be a good few Marshall men up your way too Bill, :) some nice examples, The quarter scale one very nice! ;)

Oh yes Paul and there are a lot more I know of that were not at the show. The small one is actually 1/2 scale and is a work of art and a credit to its maker Davie Duncan from Nairn. It took him over 3 years to build and he showed it unpainted for a few more years before taking it to bits again and cleaning it all and then painting it. One Irish man offfered him a blank cheque for it and he refused.

Funny that Bill, your steam men like to run a mix of transporting rigs, most down here run ERF or Foden, along the family tree related back to the good old days of steam and steam haulage.

Your right about Fred, Just a true character and legend!

Yes I suppose ERF's and Foden's were popular up here in the past as well Paul but they now seem to be moving more towards Scania's and Volvos.
