BC
There will be a dispersal sale at Clinterty Agricultural College by Thainstone Specialist Auctions on Saturday 1st September 2012. My dad was employed there for 8 years prior to his retirement in 1995 and I have borrowed many a tool or machine from that workshop over the years and had various things made for me by the technicians or lecturers. A sale I must attend just for old time sake. In addition there is County 1164 and a 1950's International BTD6 crawler for sale so it will be interesting to see how they have changed since the last time I saw them and what they will make on the day. http://www.anmgroup....rrent-sales.php Edited August 31, 2012 by BC
8feetmower
In the P&J it say's due to relocation.Where is it moving to & will it still be called Clinterty?
BC
It maybe to a training centre in the Tullos area of Aberdeen but that would rule out teaching farming. I will try and find out...no doubt I will see some of the folk that worked their when my dad did...mind you that is 17 years ago so maybe not. BC
I was round past with my dad today since he wanted to have a look round his old work place...he had never seen the workshop like it was today before ;D . I saw quite a few folk there including Andy Ingram and brianih634's dad...I think they were maybe just "tyre kickers" like myself but you never know ;D ..anyway if you look at the link you can download a catalogue and you can even bid online from 12.30pm http://www.anmgroup.co.uk/tsa/current-sales.php Let us hope it is a nice dry day...and a bit of sun thrown in as well for good measure
8feetmower
If you happen to notice what the MF 3065 drop-nose goes for I would be grateful but don't put yourself out.
BC
My plan is to be over at the sale once they are finished in the workshop John...2 reasons for that I need to get jobs done at home and I don't want to get carried away buying any items I don't really need ;D ...mind you if its raining I might be over before the sale of the outside items

You just never know Bill, he my even have been a mission for some certain people!! A proxy bidder Brian whatever next....mind you better than phone bids which annoy me....they seem to slow up an auction They have a (newly formed) partnership with SAC at Craibstone and that is where they are believed to be moving to. Oh I had not heard that Andrew however I have heard the premises are not being demolished they are going to be used but for training very different from before ;D Edited September 1, 2012 by BC
brianih634
Clinterty college engineering are moving and merging with Aberdeen college at Tullos, not Craibstone, farm students may be going to there though. Thats what I was told from one of the lecturers anyway. The buildings have been taken on by another independant training company.
BC
I was at the sale from 8.30 am today until it ended and what a good sale it was...prices were high and the only thing I bought was a bacon roll for breakfast and a cheese burger for lunch....lovely day and the crack was good and I met many folk I had not seen for years who worked at the college along with my dad. He was there from around lunchtime to the end and spoke to many of old fellow workers there and he was really pleased..maybe because after lunch he got a seat beside the catering van and and a few cups of tea ;D
8feetmower
Can you remember any of the prices?Know what it's like, you get talking & only remember what your interested in yourself. Anybody notice who bought the 3065 drop-nose?Was it a dealer or someone private? Edited September 1, 2012 by 8feetmower
BC
I have noted down the MF3065 Reg M910 SSO made £ 5,800 and was an on line purchase. Take home price would be plus 5% buyers premium plus VAT on the premium so £ 6,148.The "main dealer" there I would say would have been Harry Barclay.
