casting

could someone please tell me how to split a casting because all the britains ones are carst with some rivets under the bonet usualy well the new ones are any way so i was going to drill them out and replace with screws so it makes it easyer to work with when doing future mods but i need to split the rest of the casting aswell or is it just the rivets holding it together but i would still like to know an easy way of splitting castings

to be honest i have always found the way doc siad works fine for me,as long as you don't overdrill the rivet head into the shaft,,do the job and a bit of superglue puts it back again
