Realistic lights

Janval

Question

I was wondering what everyone else uses or light replacements and such. I've done/am doing quite a few Britains models where I replace all the lights. Till now I've used Artisan stuff, but they can get expensive in large quantities and not something I can get a hold of if I need more on the spot. Those are still my first choice, but does anyone have a method for making their own? Epoxy, tin foil etc?

I just re-used some old Britains crystals as well for some minor lights and it turned out good, could be an option if some quantity could be bought without it being too expensive. I've also got some broken plastic tail lights laying about so that could be an option, a bit of work to get the right sizes and shapes i reckon tho.

i tend to use stick on gems,  i found a place in the uk that sells sheets of them, in various sizes and colours, and they are pretty cheap. several places do them, in different shapes as well if you look around ,try enay for a start.

I've had some similar, not stick on but same kind of look as you can see from the rear of the Volvo. Not sure what I think of them tbh. On the John Deere I've used a mix of spare parts, Artisan and crystals on the cab lights. The front ones are simply drilled and looked juet right afterwards. Same with the DB, all Artisan.

Maybe some stick ons will look better than I think!15702792347286251756525704703615.thumb.jpg.1dcc97dd6be7e1a7ce266e5524fa7252.jpg15702792510256820038335194879808.thumb.jpg.c94dc0156b4a9a6c92f913ac34a2fc35.jpg15702793103871978358443742714803.thumb.jpg.4b8493590afa711488cba3d4e6252cff.jpg15702792688565596643656575459916.thumb.jpg.a08bef7ebb9073f094752a267531d96f.jpg
