Cropmaster
Hey guys, Is there a particular Ford tractor on which the County 1174 is based? I was just wondering if a manual for another Ford tractor would be of any use to me when restoring the 1174 at home. Thanks. ???
nashmach
As I have told you 200 hundred times before based on a Ford 7600 with a Ford lorry engine in it. Had to put it simply for him lads - I know the 7600 transaxle was uprated by County.

Eurodeere
1174 is NOT a 7600 with lorry engine. It is a 7600 with an 8700 engine. County stopped fitting "lorry engines" when the 1124 ceased production. The 1164 was 5000/8000 hybred to begin, in 1975 becoming a 7600/8600 incarnation. Get the manuals for the tractor you are working on, as it will be specific for your tractor. You could get a Ford I&T manual for the engine and one for transmission etc but you'd have nothing for the County specific parts, rear half shafts, driveshafts, front axle, cab etc etc.
Cropmaster
Thanks Eurodeere :)What is an 'I&T' manual? Now Nashmach! Mr. Know-It-all!!!! :D
ihatepoundland
The county FC1174 manual states that you need a 7600 manual. Slightly off topic, but what diecast casting is most similar to the 7600?
Eurodeere
I&T manual, service manuals for many makes and models of tractor, here are some Ford ones: http://www.manuals.us/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWCATS&Category=67 Closest model to a 7600 is a 6600, infact they are identical except for the turbo on a 76.
