ihatepoundland
A very high ISO, if it wasn't an SLR (400d), they'd be too noisey....cracking work Belarusfan
Belarusfan
Absolutely cracking photos mate........Any tips for when they're here in the dark as to how to get such good night shots? Thanks Erm, well it was the first time I've used this camera in the dark and was a bit different to the other one so I had a bit of an experiment myself. If your camera has any 'ISO' settings then set these to the highest possible. Also, if you can rest the camera on something (I used a tripod last night- often use fences or anything like that if it's to hand though ) it will be a lot clearer as the slightest movement causes huge distortions as the camera's shutter is open for such a long time. If they stop at all like when about to reverse take the photo then as opposed to when its moving I'm afraid it's fairly new to me this night work- thats just what I figured out anyway. ihatepoundland
I'm going to put a downer on it Mart I'm afraid, they won't look like the above, you'll have the same problem that I have in that your camera won't capture enough light to take shots for that short a length of time, at the high ISO settings compacts just come out with loads of black speckles (noise), the pictures will not be crisp at all. You'll have to take longer exposures if you want a decent image, so if you want clean shots of the machines you have to wait until they are still, else you'll go all arty and capture the light trails. Thanks for the advice Rob........Might have a look and see if I can set up the old SLR with a tripod or something and keep some more suited film in it and stick to the digital for day time images........ Definitely, get the most sensitive film that you can, get as close as you can, use the smallest aperture setting that you can and hope for a full moon
