nashmach
Sloping bonnet, so 1164 or1174 Not necessarily I'm sure all 74 series had sloping bonnets both 4 and 6cyl's
BC
Was it used in forestry with that type of front grill??
super6
Not necessarily I'm sure all 74 series had sloping bonnets both 4 and 6cyl's Pre cleaner at back, near cab, so 6 pot As regards sloping bonnet on 774, I stand corrected

RichardJW1
To all intents and purposes it has the makings of an early model 1174, in as much as the pre-cleaner bowl is smaller and it has the dumpy round profile exhaust

RichardJW1
She is a 1164, sounds beuatfull, she was boxed in today so i couldnt get any good pics, That surprises me. The cab roof profile is the later Hara type with the cab fan housed in it as opposed to the late model 1164s with straddle cab and Hara flat roof. Good luck with it.....they can be a handful! May be worth just making sure the bolts on the front hubs have been wired.....they had a habit of either shearing the heads off or just unwinding causing the half-shaft to come loose and damage the crown wheel & pinion.
