what thickness does the round dowel need to be for a fence

mmm i would say 2 or 3mm tops, i use 6mm for my power poles which would prob be ok for say the end turning posts as most farmers will use old poles for stuff like that, but 2 or 3 mm for the actuall bought posts

if you cant get any, drop me a line and i will see time allowing if i can get to the local shop down here then post it on to you, prob wouldnt be till next weekend  as i am stuck down cornwall most of next week, only good thing down there is the pasty shops, and i dont like pastys

it is just over 3mm  ;)

I measured it and worked it out before i did mine  :) :)

As for what to use, I use skewers as they are about 3mm  :) :) :)
