  9. 2 degrees in Baku this morning supposed to get colder tomorrow.
  10. Up near me there is a mix of round bale and pit silage. The farmer that rents 340 acres where my mum and dad live does clamp silage for both cuts. The reason he does it is that when they did bale they used to get lots of wastage and spoilage due to bird damage. They have stores for fattening and require a constant quality to put the weight on. Most of the guys that do round bales are for either young stores or suckler cows where the quality is not so important.
  11. Yeah my mates baler is a jones and it is on its last legs at one point evey other bale was bursting
  12. The pictures of the square baling bring it all back. Helped my mate do 8 acres of hay this summer we hand stacked them all and hand loaded the trailers. 1993 was the last time I had helped with them when my dad used to work on a farm all the hay and straw was small bales, several thousand of each.
  13. Great pictures there simon. It is great to see a clean farm there is really no excuse for it to be dirty. The small wrapped bales of haylage in the NE of scotland were 12 pounds each this year We were getting big round bale of haylage for 10 pounds each delivered. The second you add the the words good for horse's you pay a fortune.
