Steel wire tow rope, and Crissy presents for family.

can you not just drill the lock out, then refit a new one then??
Yeah, sorry that's what Imeant
-
Finding out the previous owner of my Mitsubishi pick up tool box has lost the key for it, so I'll probably have to drill a hole in it

What's a D12
Regards
Joe
Hey you're a Cat man, you should know that!
-
been on a driveing course at cannock D12s down to a D3 ,70 ton dumptrucks , 360 DIGGERS, rubber ducks and loading shovels good fun
Any pictures Paul, or were you too busy?

Hearing my boss relay a co-worker's attempt to escape a dumper tipping over down a slope, after the man himself describe to me his "near death" experience and daring jump to safety. Turns out the machine rotated very slowly giving him plenty of time to step out the top side if he needed to (although the roll bar would have easily shielded him apparently). But what did he do? Lept out down the slope in the direction of fall, injuring his back -but luckily avoiding being crushed.

Having returned from Thetford, finding my pick up's battery flat at 1.30 am and unable to get home.

passing my 5 year telescopic handler refresher assessment today
:)
No mean feat, well done!

'Emergency' drops of food flavourings. No where near as interesting as your cargo and a lot smellier!

What is it you are doing nowadays then, Chris?
Self-employed garden maintenance worker, occasional (but frequent at this time of year) delivery driver, occasional farm worker (still hoping to build on this, even if it does bring in less cash than the other two))

I might opt for a pair of each, although snow socks are still pretty pricey considering they're just fabric...
-
Up at 1am tomorrow, with a load to deliver to Caerphilly by 4.
-
So presumably you use full snow tyres then Bill?
-
I've been putting this off because of the relatively mild weather we've been having here in the UK, but I was wondering if anyone on ftf has previously used snow socks as an alternative to chains? I'm told they cope with icy conditions on a par with snow chains, but suffer when exposed to clear tarmac. Any ideas?

North Devon for my first 8 years, currently living in Stroud, Gloucestershire.

Does that mean he will stop humping your leg now Mark?
-
To my shame Bill I've ruined a couple like this
, as you say better not to touch at all.

As others have pointed out the plastic on the Ransomes Harvester is very fragile, and seems to become more so over time. The 'slime' I've encountered is usually a previous owner's attempt to lubricate the moving belts with oil, but only weakens the plastic further. DO NOT LUBRICATE!

Ear defenders, Chris
I've tried that before, and it wasn't half uncomfortable. I'll give fluffy earmuffs a go next time I think...
Rather miffed at the loss of my laptop recently as i lost all my uploaded music. Oh well, the Sprinter has a cd player.

Logs today and then this evening I photographed the last of the current Britains collection before putting them all in the loft out of the way. Now playing with the HTC and Laptop, syncing music to my 'phone so I can listen to it when on the log processors. Reminds me how many CD's I have not yet uploaded to the laptop, another job!
These 'phones take over your lives!!
I'm surprised you can hear it over the din, your ears must be taking a pounding!

Driving to a farm in Tunbridge Wells with 2 tonnes of ingredients. Some nice machines there, including Fiatagri, New Holland and Claas (coming around the corner followed by a Claas dealer/mechanic van).

Watching Steve Mcqueen chase down a Trans Am with a MF 760 in The Hunter (1980), only for the reception to go before the resolution

Nice walk in Halfway forest coming back from south Wales, then tucked into an 8oz rump steak in a local pub.

Well done Sue, at least you didn't have to do too much rifling through the dirt pile, I always dread that if I've hoovered up part of a model or something.
What really annoyed you today

The staff (or lack of) at the factory I was delivering to in Bromborough, Liverpool. 45 minutes to tip is not a good result
. AND they pinched my clipboard
.
And to top it all, getting the Sprinter stuck in mud when I got back home. My L200 was spinning on the sodden earth, so out with the bosses dumper and and a strop (I was in
