  1. Well if you'll pay the diesel I'll bring it over Chris :P

Supposing I could afford the fuel if I won the lottery, I think you would have trouble maneuvering your tipper around our lanes and would soon be cursing my name ^-^

No video sadly buddy.... I'll see what I can muster up in the next few days for you then ;)

I do miss those in-cab videos you used to post (despite being few in number). Do you fix the camera in one place with a holder of some sort, or do you get Lumpy to film by your side?

  2. To-ing and fro-ing cement in another 3 tonne Terex. I was told it was going to be a smaller, 1 tonne machine because the terrain was so narrow and treacherous, but had to make do. Starter bendix cog was getting stuck so when it was finally running courtesy of a shunt from the digger, we had to leave the thing idling all day just in case! Oh well, I didn't die, that's the main plus from today (as well as getting paid of course).

  3. You're more than welcome Johny, that's a really smart tractor you've put together and it was great to see it on display at Zwolle last year. :)

Thanks ever so much too. Enjoyed sorting through the 2000 series tractors i've photographed over the years. Agree with you regards the 2720 tractors, proper beasts! :)

The pair i've photographed live on farms close to each other and are still worked regularly. Just need to find some 2005 series tractors to photograph now, a range i've seemingly missed with the camera lens so far.

??? I wasn't aware of this sub-series. The only machines I know that could fall into this category are the 6 cylinder 2725, and North-American made 2745 (Perkins V8). Can anyone name any others?

  4. Particularly with models (rather than toys) it is a limited market and producing lots of variations garners more sales from the same tooling, which keeps cost to an acceptable level. However, I think we are fast reaching saturation point for what people can a. afford, and b. find room to display (or store), and I feel there is a danger of those manufacturers who put out lots of different versions could end up killing the goose.......

So in this regard Britains/Tomy will have a more secure future than that of say UH or Wiking if they keep their primary focus on the toy market, but having their feet in both camps so to speak supports their profit margins when one market sags.
