  1. you awkward bugger tris , she hasn't got any red slimline capitals ! will see what she brings over later ,
  2. you trying to give the man a heart attack ! have you any idea what the implications of that sentence could do to this particular member \ \ AMBULANCE FOR MR CHANNEL PLEASE :D :D
  3. the vac box cab be sealed yes , but there is a hydraulic door to seal off the compartments as it would try sucking the feed from the compartment you're trying to fill ! heres they type of unit that is hooked to the rear of some bulkers , although not quite as ungainly as these, they are lifted onto the brackets by forklift & there is no need for the cyclone arm as it would be piped straight to the compartment http://www.kongskilde.com/Grain/Products/Conveying+Equipment/Tractor+powered+suction+blower+type+SupraVac+2000+%28trailer+mounted%29.htm
  4. the vac system isn't a self powered unit on here jas , by switching a couple of taps on the rear of the discharger the bolwer pressure is diverted to the reverse unit where it drives an impeller to create suction , there is a box in the rear of the lorry which is basically a giant hoover system. unlike a vacum tanker which relies on the diminishing air to pull liquids , this needs needs to pull inconsistant solids, on the picture above there are three small pull-push buttons above the long blower levers , thse are connected to air operated valves to controll which compartment the waste or contaminated feed goes into , the last time i opperated this particular unit was on an ERF chassis about 5 years ago . chicken feed was is a regular vacum service as the young poults have a starter chick meal ,main fattening meal & a finishing meal, the chickens may well be taken before the finishing meal has been used ,so this lorry would be used to empty the bin so that the chick meal could be delivered . many mills now have a piggy back vacum unit , this cuts out the need to have a vacum box in the body so as long as a bulker has the brackets to take it the sucker unit can be hooked onto any vehicle

still recon a 956 is a good bet mart but look at the boots on here , the tractors not a favorite of mine , but you know you want to http://www.richardbland.co.uk/images/rbdbf8340-5341h.jpg
  6. matter of fact ricky's right marky , with the proper use of pressure controll with the draft , your fanny should have no problem accomadating the size grip is the issue here not power i've seen a 590 2wd out perform a 590 4wd when ploughing, with the correct use of the pressure control . rear wheel ballast may be an option , but hardly worth messing about with.
  7. christ phill you're turning into marky you buy yer anoraks from the same place \ seriously phill you know yer stuff good on you :)

very much a double clutch shift for these ladies , the gear lever rail around them was a pain as well , especially if the box had a bit of wear in them , as the long levers would hit the bar before going into gear given the chance i'd own one , as there are plenty about for cheaper than the one on this post , but not in the same condition , this has been well looked after, i'd say the price is fair for this tractor , but the VAT is the killer here, it just makes it that little too much
  9. can i chip in as an ex-driver ? no? tough ! the 100 series tractors were what i cut my teeth on really from the 135 a beautifully balanced tractor both on it's own or with a loader , & you won't find a gutsier little tractor about but now very much into their twilight years they are getting tired in their original form but always a joy to drive the 165 was the middleweight of it's class & a perfect all rounder the 175/8 was the same , the head drivers tractor at the time would be the 185/8 . the 185 was a peach to drive again with the power - weight ratio spot on :) the 500's were always a good bet , but i still have my own issues with the 550, the best of the bunch has to be the 590 & only really found one fault with them &that was they used the same diamiter clutch plates as the 135 !! so if you wern't carefull a loader tractor would eat clutches the 595 being the dog of the class & many didn't perform as well as expected :( the 200's allgood except for maybe the secura cabs , they got tired very quickly the duncan cabs wern't much better but if kept clean & tidy they wernt a bad place to be the 298 with duncan cab was a good tractor ,unlike the 698 which for me turned out to be another mongrel in a litter of pedigree's, the 698 T was great but the top dog had to be the 699 & in my view is still one of masseys best tractors . the 2000series tractors were beasts of their time along with the ford TW range all but the 2620 & the 45 series have been worked hard with me & still remain a good reliable workhorse , not as fast as their modern 40K counterparts , but speed isn't everything & a day in one of these clumsy lumbering giants wouldn't go amiss even now the 300's were better than the 200 predesessors but mechanically they were the same tracor with better cabs my massey carear stopped at the 30/31/39 series tractors & were damn good workhorses as with all makes there were good & bad in all ranges & like many i have my favourites , many massey tractors i have worked have been praised & many have been cursed but in all a pretty cosistant offering the 6000series was about when i was still in farming but i was driving deeres at the time

WHOA now there's a tractor with a gearbox to test yer patience with mart very good tractors ,but the non synchro box let them down a bit , very strong & reliable ,but needed to be treated like a lady ,bit of respect & she'll do just fine ,little on the old side , but very well looked after by the looks of things sadly the others are right rather on the old side & for the money yer willing to pay there are newer models about will still put in a good days graft for you mart & best bit is NO COMPUTERS ! a real "hit it with a hammer to keep it going" bus !
  11. get the super glue & paint ready rich , that looks well good :) if you get another set ,put a couple of augers on it insted of the hopper & you'd have yerself a snow blower
  12. johns right marky , the 260 isn't a very well ballanced plough but a hydraulic turnover does help as is controlled & you could be infinately adjusting it to keep it right , to even think about this plough , you'd have been better off with buying the 420 4wd version again for the 3F massey would be fine for a slightly bigger tractor of 65hp+ really my bets would be on the kv or the ransomes but as for the kv buy one you want not something you need to change
  13. few members here making that sort of harvester , must be bored of all the tractor work & need some exercise,to want to grow labour intensive crops , looks good S172 will look a corker when it's finished !
  14. very nice collection there bdk, do you collect conversions as well or are they all straight off the shelf models ?
  15. sorry mate ,i'll give you an honest opinion , as a whole it looks very good , having a bdy on it will finish it nicely but the cab looks like it's been primed & is now waiting for the top coat to make it shine other than that turned out nice again an't it
  16. WHAT YOU SPRAY THAT WITH POLYFILLER ? \ COMEING ON WELL TRIS , YOU STILL WANT THOSE RED LETTERS ? WILL GO TO THE SHOP TOMORROW & SEE IF I CAN FIND SOME
  17. job well done jas ! :) certainly looks the part , so any more on the horizon or another one off ? & i dare say gavs spotted a place to perch one of his OSR hoppers to it already :D
  18. nothing like a good rumage eh tris ?
  19. i met the driver of that fendt tipping wheat at mole valley mill a few days back , the mudguard was damaged so was removed for repair & is now back on the tractor ,. the locker unit is basicaly a guard for the the compression actuator tanks that are used for front axle suspension
  20. driving on the road at 14 & didn't bother taking a tractor test \
  21. nice bit of work that shakerator, here's my attempt at a lime spreader http://www.farmtoysforum.com/forum/index.php?topic=6913.0
