  1. Cheers CP, more work than I'd realised
  2. Nice, what are the wheels from, they're not Marston ones are they?
  3. Cheers guys, it's far from perfect but I'm happy with it as a first scratch-build. Dutch barn and milking parlour next on the list
  4. Cladding on (and yes, I know that the centre-left column is a little bit crooked )
  5. Click here to see the first forum I came upon where farm models were discussed - it later became the Toy Tractor Times messageboard. Unfortunately none of the links open (see halfway down a certain angry young man is giving out about the lack of 1:32 items!), but it brings back memories, I used to go there almost daily from 2002-04 before I discovered www.britains-tractors.co.uk, which then became FTF. As you can see from the topic I started on ToyTalk, Tellarian and Eurodeere were members there, as was SPN, anybody else ever have a logon?
  6. Oh sorry, I get you now, I have that issue and all, didn't look properly at Nils Fischer's items, some great prototypes there!
  7. What issue of Model Farmer did Andy do the piece?
  8. Thanks TM! So has anybody any thoughts on the Britains lorry?!
  9. I would have regarded myself as fairly proficient at maths at school and have worked on countless building sites, but somehow I've had problems making sure everything fitted with this. A few 'manipulations' have ensured things aren't too bad though, just cladding and guttering to go
  10. I know what you mean LV (in fact I've a letter planned for Model Tractor ), what I meant was that my original post about Warner's articles on Britains lorries shouldn't have been put in this topic as it didn't relate to Model Farmer
  11. Cheers Pete. Floor paint dried now, wall sections, supports and roof beams to be glued on next
  12. Just to clarify, my post above was about Warner Hall's article in Model Tractor, not Model Farmer, which was why I started a new topic in the Events & Magazines section
  13. Informative stuff as always PM, good to see you posting again!
  14. Absolutely, it looks outstanding
  15. Supports still to be put on shed roof but it's taking shape. Also been taking first tentative steps at soldering, hoping to make my own gates
  16. Beams in the shed now secured with Milliput, must all be cut to size as I realised I'd cut them too big (the floor will be sprayed grey)
  17. It's a start, no doubt UH will bring out the other three soon enough!
  18. Looking well Pete! Currently in the process of trying to make my first trailer from scratch, hope to post some pics tomorrow
  19. Warner Hall has a very good piece (as ever), the first of a two-parter looking at Britains lorries. The prototypes that he made which were not taken up by Britains make for interesting what-if propositions, IMO they should have just gone with everything he suggested, as he had some great ideas that were rejected! Reading the article I was reminded of the shortlived Iveco Cargo from about 10 years ago, very odd that it was discontinued after such a short time and more wasn't made of the casting
  20. Was free last year, if you email the address above it'll give you all the info
  21. There's a show on near me on Easter Monday and I've decided that I'm going to create a proper display for it this year, having only dipped my toe in the layout waters last year: I've in and around a month to get a yard together, in my head it looks great, whether it will turn out that way is another thing! Started with a few bits last week (pictures below), hope to get a lot done tomorrow now. Haven't decided yet what time period to set it in, not going to be too machinery-heavy, leaning towards a dairy/mixed farm
