  1. Not the greatest of photos - but a nice pair of NH CRs behind my house - a 9070 and a 9080. I didn't even see the JD combine until I got home and looked at the photos! Belongs to the farmer beyond these fields who also restores old classics - JD tractors and Fiat crawlers. He's been in Classic tractor once or twice - most recently with the Fiat crawlers.
  2. Nice photos. Works fine on Safari on a mac as well.

One of the county and one of the Leyland side on. Hopefully they work. Thanks for all your help - much appreciated. Any idea when the Blue Force magazine will come out?

    County valuation

'buyer' was offering nothing - "just saving us the hassle of getting rid of them" apparently....suffice to say we didn't accept his generous offer. Howard - thanks for the offer. What details would you typically include - model, approx age, hours, engine size, contact details and location, approx asking price? Also any idea what issue these would go out in? On asking prices, sound like asking £2.5k for Leyland and £6k for County with a view that after negotiation they go for the kind of prices suggested above? Or is it better to just put £poa and see what people offer? Thanks for all the replies.

Yup - going to try a few classified ads first off I think and then if they don't work, probably try Cheffins. Good point on transport costs as I hadn't considered thoughs. Classic Tractor is one. Any suggestions of any others worth putting an advert in? BC - what would you reckon the Leyland is worth?

Thanks Howard. Any suggestions on best way to go about selling them? Is it worth ringing the relevant collectors societies?

    County valuation

A few photos and info. The County is a County Four 4000 with rear forestry grab - 5100 hours. Still confirming the year of production but guess late 60s, early 70s. Good running order and very little rust as kept indoors. The Leyland is a 270 2wd - hours and age tbc. Also good running order. Any suggestions of what these might be worth and best way to go about selling them. Not sure eBay is the right way to go with something like this.....Cheffins Cambridge auction or classified ads? Thanks
  10. Very nice - nice scenery and blue sky as well! Not getting enough of that in the UK at the moment

    County valuation

A friend has inherited an old forestry County tractor and an old Leyland and is looking to sell on to buy one replacement tractor. Any ideas on the best way to get a valuation / sell these two classics to get a sensible price? Someone has already offered to 'take them off his hands to save him the trouble' but, as they are both in running order, I suspect are worth something to the right classic collector/restorer.
  13. Very nice photos - great light in the evenings in the last few days.
  14. Anyone able to recommend any good farming DVDs? Looking for a machinery focus with up to date machines rather than old classics. Seem a lot out there so trying to figure out what's good.
  15. Followed by a brand new 9230, running on tracks. Only a few photos as was getting dark so will try to get a picture later in harvest that shows the tracks to full effect. The farm previously ran a 9010 which caught fire at the end of last harvest and was written off...so this is it's replacement. The fire obviously didn't put them off red machines.
  16. A few pics - all with a Case theme - there definitely seem to be more of these appearing around my way. First up, a 9010 and a CX5080 (which I think is basically a New Holland TX painted red).
  17. Just bumping this in case someone has seen one during recent harvest action?
  18. Looks great - I like it a lot. Would you like to convert a second one to sell?
  19. Rape wasn't swathed - but they have v1050 headers on their 'old' 770s around me - many of the fields are smaller and quite tricky shapes so I think they seem to stay away from the very biggest headers - hence why I guess they have gone with the v1200. Unless of course it is a v1350 with a v1200 sticker on it....it did seem quite substantially bigger than the v1050 so it might be...
  20. Really looking forward to these - any updated pictures around?
  21. Yup - that would make some sense. Interestingly they were running two 770s last year - but there were still only 2 this year - 1 being the new version. Would suggest this isn't a demo machine - otherwise there would have been 3 of them! Saying that, I think they recently changed over from NHs so maybe Claas are keeping them sweet by offering them an early version of next years machine.
  22. Interesting find this evening - a new Lexion - but this one does include a model number - apparently a 770. This was one working alongside a Lexion from 770 that was new last year. Despite the new machine having the V1200 rather than the V1050, it still appeared to be getting across the field a little faster.
