  1. I forgot I had an image of the Red Fordson in one of my photos from a show earlier in the year. :)  Also, the post of the image of the yellow Fordson shows it with a wind up motor, where as I am sure they should not have them. Possible repaint perhaps. Another non mechanical version in blue turned up recently in a box (for the yellow edition). apparently it was sold like that from new too, so another variation to throw into the mix...blue non mechanical in yellow tractor box.  :of

  2. I was talking to a chap who used to work for Denzil Skinner yesterday. Very interesting conversation and interesting to know some of the rarer models they did that nobody really knows about. They did an Aveling Barford Grader / Scraper which I didnt know about, both in large and small scale. There were VR180 and Vigor versions of the 1/16 crawler and  also the Vickers crawler was released in a smaller scale.  :) The small scale Nuffields are also genuine Denzil Skinner.

  3. We are pleased to announce that there will be a Farm Toys, Models & Collectables Auction on Friday 30th September.

In conjunction with the Spalding Model Tractor Show weekend, the sale will be taking place on the Friday evening, held at Springfields Exhibition Centre, Spalding. Run by new Auction House, M&M Auctions, the sale will consist of approximately 300 lots, including toys and models new and old from the likes of Britains, Chad Valley, Siku, Lego, Denzil Skinner etc..

There is also a short machinery literature section which will hopefully be more prevalent in future sales.

There are some particularly rare and hard to find pieces within the catalogue and hopefully plenty of choice. There are 4 sales per year planned with the next one due around the beginning of December.

The easiest way to participate in the auction on the 30th September is by either leaving a commission bid - see www.mm-auctions.com or by "Bidding online LIVE" whilst the auction is going on. You can sign up to live bidding (and leave commission bids) by visiting the catalogue on the-saleroom.com - http://www.the-saleroom.com/en-gb/auction-catalogues/m-and-m-auctions/catalogue-id-2847775

The sale will be available to view at Springfields on the Thursday Evening and Friday before the sale. Of course, if anyone is attending the tractor show on the Saturday and Sunday, they are welcome to collect any lots won to save postage.

For any more information, you can contact me direct (via PM on the forum) or you can email info@mm-auctions.com

I am heavily involved in the sale so I will be happy to answer any queries.

    Many thanks

  4. Not long now before the Autumn Spalding Show. I spoke to Colin, the organiser yesterday and it is a sell out for trade stands again, so should be plenty to see for everyone who attends.

I have just checked and there are still rooms available at the travel lodge on site, but it appears to be nearly full.

There will be a show model available again...a Hawk Hire McCormick produced by Siku...around 500 models available.

  5. Thanks Mark. It certainly is. Hopefully better news will prevail soon! It's so so sad but as you say, is the only downside to having these faithful companions (or any other pet for that matter). That said, she'll be pleased...she can now finally turn down the dry food and pedigree chum, and demand all the ham, eggs, roast beef dinner leftovers, chinese spare ribs, rich tea biscuits and chicken chow mein that she desires  ;D

  6. I'm afraid its a similar theme of late but my Dad took the eldest of his, Beth, today :(  :'(  A very sad day indeed. She was certainly part of the family and a large part of my life over the past 16 years!

She has certainly enjoyed a long and happy life and of course, the memories will live on! So RIP Beth and I will certainly toast a drink to her memory this evening  :)

N.B Bottom left in the pic!  :)
