  1. time to get the sprayer out this morning to go and burn off 150 acres of stubble ,just half way through and the clouds decided to relieve themselves for the rest of the day , so plan b was put into action and we decided to put the stubble cultivaters into a 35 acre block of stubble and to put the plough into another 27 acre block , got to try and keep the wheels turning !
  2. that's a bit of a downer m8 , our combines parked up if u need en and all our stubble cultivaters are in the yard if you get stuck , giv us a shout if u need em
  3. only around 55 acres m8 , yeah crack on 50 acres worth up there and store some back for ourselves for selling straight off the doorstep so to speak
  4. time to get on and the potato shed sorted out , moving boxes then off collecting more boxes to bring back to the yard , meanwhile at the workshop end of the yard the potato diggers in for a service and the new wheels and tyres just been fitted to the 416 in time for maize harvest , she looks a bit more impressive with new boots , hopefully make a bit of difference on the pit

  6. break in the weather has allowed us to make some 3rd cut round bales of silage , and weve just finished drilling and rolling in 100 acres of rape , still lots to keep the boys occupied with
  7. 3rd cut silage well under way at orchard farm , no 3 silage pit on the way to be filled up for the winter , 350 acres to do at home,then the lads off for a couple days well deserved break after all the hours been worked over harvest time ! then a further 1000 acres at customers farms , then wont be long till the early maize starts coming off .

  9. all straw from blackdown ( Oakley farms ) now baled and hauled back in the yard took a ady or so to dry out ! the combines getting her cosmetics done before shes put away and just about to get ready for 3rd cut silage ! hitched up the 3metre drill ready for a service before drilling season begins take advantage of a few less hectic days
  10. busy time round the yard at the moment with some older kit on the way out and a few new bits of kits just arriving ,finally the fendt 828 arrived earlier this weekwith a 7930 going out of the fleet, the jd 7500 forager on the way to compass tractors for px against a fendt katana due to arrive in the next week ! also the 24m kvernland sprayer px against a self propelled 32m tecnoma with more spraying pencilled in for next year thought wed be better to have something to run on its own steam ! meanwhile the lads getting ready for 3rd cut silage at the end of the week now that all the combining has finished time to clean her off and service her and put her in the shed

  12. full steam ahead spreading chicken litter , started up bondip and working our way back round closer to Oakley hq !! should be all finished by the wknd , meanwhile weve got the tanker running full steam as all this rain has topped up the slurry pits !!! also a chance to get the 416 serviced before 3rd cut silage next week
  13. yeah very good , works well when you push en on a bit but makes the deere grunt on some of our more clayier ground also good narrow transport width for travelling around our lanes !
  14. with 2 of the chaps off spreading for Oakley , we thought wed try out the new gregoire besson on some stubbles to see how she performed , hitched en on the 6210r to give her a good working as the 939 is on tanking duties this week
  15. rained off again ,so thought wed go on spreading duties and umbilical work this week with the weather as unpredictable as it is , starting off spreading chicken litter tomorrow for Oakley on there wheat stubbles then off to neighbouring farms for emptying slurry pits after the umbilical has worked its magic !
  16. yeah were be ok to keep baleing as long as the straw keeps on coming alex ! plenty of staff is the key ol , yeah he need a change of colour every now and then !!!
  17. a day to get the last loads of straw off the fields at selvinge with the help of Oakley farms , just a case of making loads secure with all these winds about , the balers being parked up in the workshop ready for a service after baling all oakleys straw,a successful baling season so far , hope it continues to we finish off our 400 acres of wheat !now that baling stopped another chance to get on out and trim up some hedges
  18. with rain stop play the lads have been busy putting in 60 acres of grass seed , with the 7430 out of action for a while with a dropped valve , weve rolled in a fendt 724 on demo , thought wed put her through her paces with 80 acres of ploughing to get done , while around the yard tidying up a few loose ends such as filling up the diesel bowser for when the boys crack on baleing again and a chance to get some dirty water out the lagoon ,keep the dairyman happy !!
  19. a good day to get everything cleared bale wise ! last loads from kingstone safely back in the yard with the help of the Oakley staff , good job wrapped up just gotta wait for the sun then we can get rolling again . happy days !!!
  20. yeah hes ideal nice exstension aswell ! thought wed make use of en !!!!! claas all the way ! the ol girls only out when we need her ! time for her to be part exed I reckon
  21. busy day today out to bondip this morning to turn some damp straw , then back out this afternoon to wrap up the rest of baleing , 4 balers in at the minute to keep everything baled , stew Elliott on with his krone as well as our own 3 , now running 4 trailers on hauling back from bondip, new bale trailer arrived this morning so were running flat out hopefully by the early hours should have all bales back to the yard ,1 tractor down as the 7430 decided to give up the ghost this morning ,smarts in working on her at the mo !
  22. yeah cracking sample of straw alex. should keep the cows happy in the winter ! thank you paul there cheap and cheerful and look ideal for the job with a few tweeks here and there
  23. with baleing underway at bondip ilchester weve covered 220 acres before the rain set in ,yhe first loads of straw making there way back to the yard , new 6125r the first on the trip back ! back at the farm 80 acres getting cultivated ready for stubble turnips to go in ,thought wed catch a break in the good weather to drill b4 the combines are off again
  24. thanks chaps , perhaps were pull in the puma on the 3rd baler if needed ! at the mo 1s on hedgetrimming the other 1s on stubble cultivations
