oh very very smart..............as we have mentioned before these mini scenes rather than massive dioramas might just be a very civilised and enjoyable way to move forward

thanks David thats not half of it or anything like it but it is a good flavour of what i have.Yes the nectra is a nice one, D T special. i havent a favourite model out of all I have but I do like the frank zimmermann conversion of what is essentially a 1/64 ertl cultivator, took me a fair few tries before I managed to buy one and it wasn`t cheap i always just missed out at the end aye well just you do that then Bill, mind you`ll have to climb into the loft and open up the boxes if it`s before I get my wee layout done

got hold of one of these too,probably ideal to tow behind the UTV or the quad

yes thats what I reckon too , those trays could be fresh from Histon produce!!, I suppose even for?..... well not quite but someone very similar and from whom i learned a lot.Graham that used to work for us from 1984 until he retired in 1990. We still keep in regular contact...................we used to say jobs took one "graham power" or one and a half normal man power. one of life`s good guys, a real hard worker and someone I`m very proud to call a friend

handy wee bit of kit that, especially for the gate block ..if thats not a lot of material sitting about you, Id hate to see how much you had when you had a lot ! this all sounds like a very worthwhile diversification ,right place at the right time, doing the right job

wider view of some of my later poultry purchases showing the new ray ,some tim /siku ones as well as britains turkeys , there will be another 40 turkeys somewhere juat another of the highland cattle........you all know by now I like my cows some of the different variations of the britains farmer over the years and various other farm people and the kids..the pig for the girl feeding it is there somewhere as is the wee white dog with the boy and stick

I`m assuming it`s here I should have posted the pics of some more of my collection I put up in the other topic.......... here`s a few more some of Mandy and dave`s pallets of bags , a few drums and barrels I got off a military scenery guy and some other wee bits and pieces oh and all the different veggie trays i`ve found ........there`s even trays of eggs if you can see them some of the quads....not got the yamaha sporty street version in this , nor the siku MF ag tv nor the JD buck but I do have all of them somewhere! the new ray UTV`s they just need a wee bit of fine detailing and they aren`t half bad for the money Dave T conversion track marshall

thats good news hope he makes a full recovery and i`m sure he`ll enjoy the skiing, as if we havent seen enough in this country this winter eh

Yes gav no serious cropping done round here why he advocates these ideas I think, we certainly have no OSR or beets to contend with.the likelihood of any brassica being back in the same ground before at least 7 years is very low.I accept that he`s now suggesting it`s done but my feeling would be folks will work their way round farms where possible.there isn`t that much opportunity to reseed otherwise..we all seem to be stocked up to the hilt and need the land........... I hadn`t reckoned on the waste from bales either of straw or the silage at all.....theres another issue to deal with.they tend not to plough up here after the kale, its just heavy discs. they still tend to put a trailer or a ring feeder into the field on a hard part and the cows feed out of it but I have seen lines of bales in the fields...... Interesting we havent heard much from the Irish lads on this subject.......wondering if its too wet a bit like with us because despite I talk about this , the folks doing it are very much in the minority

i have a couple of bits to add in here..........my landlord`s farms up the road, put kale in this year again, half a crop but better than last years complete failure. They have also put up buildings at another farm they have 9 miles away and sent 60 cows away inside for the winter .........what`s that saying. one of the seed reps with us has come up with a couple of suggestions recently,he maintains this one will work fine.Sow arable silage into the last years kale stubble with about half rate rape kale hybrid seed included in the mix,take your cut of silage off mid july then let the hybrid regrow and use to fatten lambs rather than heavy winter cattle unless you happen to get exceptionally good regrowth.....this 2nd year growing brassica is really finding favour in this area,follow that with a 4 to 7 year cutting/grazing seed mix..........good soil break up with no club rooot build up. a second he has when you grow cereals anyway is to include it in a long term rotation of 2 cuts silage , mid july sow hybrid rape,secong year either kale or the arable silage mix,sow spring barley followed by another cereal crop or a full autumn grass reseed .....

I agree with above post....good points and bad points with all .... If you asked me this question I think it would probably depend as much on a nearby dealer who I get along with giving me the most affordable option not necessarily the cheapest on face value For instance our local class dealer is trying to get you to build in servicing and extended warranty in the up front price , more expensive at the time but if you do a lot of work and are likely to be keeping the tractor, long enough to perhaps need expensive repairs, then this might be as I say more affordable long term sorry to say this but £40 K doesnt sound a lot to play with ,this might limit your choice a tad as the loader would be getting on for £5 K and I`m not sure what models have 50 kmh box as standard so it might be an extra which could add a bit to the final price too I`m not getting into colour wars as I have a right mix MF Claas and Ford now after being lifelong MF fan. hope that helps a bit

you know it makes sense.......... with all the extra steel you might not need such a big block in front! ...oh and of course for lifting those extra big boulders on your fork. don`t mind me I couldn`t resist, I somehow doubt if you need the extra capacity but probably worth pricing just in case its not that much more money

I`ll second that Sean, Alex..............you don`t do that, take it from us older guys .........you can`t do it , see all the bent noses and bald heads thats what happens to you........it might seem like a good idea at the time .... not that i`m condoning your behaviour but it must have been fun trying tho eh chalk that lot up to experience oh and consider emigrating!!! it will be round the network quicker than lightning!

some drums and barrels, they are resin, hand made and look excellent , not that expensive pics once the camera is charged up, and a new ray 1/32 kawasaki motorbike,well the boss`s son has to have a "toy" to play about with

I like your idea of scenes Jordan this looks very good. you can vary them as much as you like so you dont get bored looking at the same all the time, they take up less space, you dont have to have them all set up together if you dont want, of course you can make them seasonally suitable or not as you please nd with you travelling and displaying around the country they are more manageable to transport.
