  1. Blue Man, I have a set of wing assemblies from the 'new' Britains 5000 if you are in need.
  2. Is the metal chassis for this trailer, hollow or solid ? Someone must have cut one up at sometime. Cheers in advance Adie
  3. Thanks for the replies guys, interesting as ever. I wonder how many farmers are aware of the number of tractor movements per bale they are making. Speaking as a none farmer (and I am quite prepared to be put in my place by some one who is), I always thought this was an argument for rapping at the stack, particularly when using a separate wrapper. Baling, wrapping, stacking on trailer, trailer haulage and stacking again is a lot of tractor movements per bale. Obviously using a combined baler/wrapper reduces this a lot.
  4. Marky dear chap, thank you so much for posting the pictures of the acrobat style wheel rake. I got major grief from a mate for painting a Britains acrobat in MF colours, time for him to eat some humble pie i think. At some stage, god knows when, I must use the wheels of a couple of the britains acrobats and make an MF 'V' wheel rake. Some day in the distant future I will have to come back to you for some more pics and measurments. The post knocker is a new one on me, another one to try some time. Cuting a centeral reservation with an in line forager, my how the world has changed !!!! Adie
  5. The other day I treated myself to a Britains Krone Benac bale trailer. Getting the model set me thinking, what ever happened to this type of bale trailer ? I remember a small farm close to where i lived as a teenager having a front loading bale trailer similar to the krone, it still carried four bales but was a lot smaller than the Krone, I remember it being towed by an Iseki of around 50hp and it not dwarfing the tractor (this farm always had small tractors, nothing over 70hp, and always had somthing a bit different last time i passed they had a kioti of around 70hp, but thats another story). I have done various google image searches for this type of trailer but found nothing. Did this type of trailer not take off, or have they died out over time, and if so does anyone know the reason ? cheers Adie.
  6. Still a lot of finishing to do on this one including decals. Never seen one of these done before which is sightly surprising given that its a fairly straight foward convo.
  7. Cheers for the replies. Gonna see if I can get a Siku 5455 Adie
  8. I have a body kit from a Britains 6290 that I want to use to create a 4365. I was wondering what chassis would be right in terms of size to use. I have a Siku 4270 on a Britains 6180/6140 chassis that, to my untrained eye looks about right. I was hoping someone could suggest a chassis that would be the right size for a 4300 series tractor. Not being around 'real' tractors working out correct sizes, or comparative sizes, is not always easy. Adie ps. If anyone would like a chassis/wheels etc from a 6290 a few pounds would secure.
  9. Can anyone confirm if Henri WALKER is still trading. Been a while since I had contact with him, and wanted to confirm he is still about before sending of e-mails. Cheers Adie.
  10. As ever, thanks to all who replied, and particulary to Deere-est who actually read the question !
  11. The tractor market in the US must be very different from the UK. Over here we are told the market for new tractors under 100hp is small, and getting smaller. In the states MF already has 6 series of tractors under 100hp, 1500 1600 500, 500lp 2600 and 3600. Now they have added a 2600 heavy duty series to its range. See pictures from the US MF site.
  12. As my "handle" on here suggests, I am no farming professional, merely an observing amateur. I have a reasonable knowledge of forage harvesting and equipment. However I know "zip" about cultivating equipment. I want to put together a diorama of equipment that might be used for cultivating and planting kale for out wintering cattle, and restoring grass afterwards. Can someone suggest models in 1/32 from any of the main model makers that might be used for this. I am looking for kit which can be used with tractors in the 90 to 170hp power range, so no Simba Solo's ! Cheers in advance Adie.
  13. Anyone know, or think, if either of the 74 series tractors are likley to be offered with a loader ?
  14. Being an MF fan thought I would collate the new MF releases for 2010. Siku 8680 UH 7499 Britains 7480 Can anyone add any more to the list ?
  15. Thanks for the comments guys. Fred, Yes indeed, the donor is a Deere 5820 with a UH MF 5580 bonnet. The rest is just trimming of a few extra lights and the appropriate paint job. Nice to finally find something useful to use a Deere for !! (just joking).
  16. Two from my favourite range of current tractors. The 3645 was made for me by PDC and the 3635, with loader, is a pale imitation made by myself. I have had to mount the loader very high on the 3635 to lift it above the Siku front axle assembly and remove the front mudguards. This one just needs some rear lights. I have managed to drop, and loose, the offside "3645" decal as I was applying it yesterday, so it was not thunder you heard rumbling in the distance, if was me bellowing my displeasure in very basic Anglo Saxon !!!! Next in this series will be a 3625 open platform, when i can get another doner model.
  17. Thanks for the replies, FNHIR / Simon Thought about the Siku 5455 base but decided it was not worth the aggro. andrewstandford Nice idea, but again, don't really think the extra work would be worth it.
