Well now its just a few days ago april 2008 here at ballylaw farms and ploughing and drilling is in full swing we are a bit behind this year because of bad weather at the start of the month, this year we are ploughing with a jd 6930 and 4f kverneland, jd 7930 and 5f overum i am waiting on a new 5f kverneland to replace this but it wont be here until the autum. this year drilling is a 6 month old jd 7530 with lemken solitare 9 3m drill and a new t7060 with lemken solitare 9 bought just last week to replace a mf 7480 which had a bit of an accident well heres the pics broke a point so a quick change 6930 oh oh what this 7530 followed by the t7060

i think he means that the tramlines work through the bout markers as when you come to the end of the field and change over it trips the tramline mech but on them lemken drills it works when you lift the drive wheel for the metering system in stead of the bout markers but never the less looks great

its ok jez them lemkens saphirs work the tramlines through the drive wheel found that out this week

well my job in hertfordshire last year the bill for all fert and spray was 700,000 and that was to cover near 6000 acres wouldnt like too see it this year

well we got g-lime at 110/t, goulding can 27.5 at 350/t, 25-0-5 at 285/t and we got potash as well but dont know how much and diesel is over 58ppl as well with us we got a fill 10 days ago and the day after it went up 8ppl my dad said he should have bought 5000L

well atleat the G-lime has stayed the same needed quite a bit of that this year understand what you mean my neighbour has went mad buying over the last 18 months new t7040 new redrock th 280s new lemken saphir 7 drill new front press new 14t kane new overum 5 furrow new bogballe 2t sower and is talking about a new mchale fusion and trading in the tm 135 for a t6070/80 it beggars belive then theres two brother on seprate farms built/building cubicle sheds for upto 350 cows both sheds cover nearly an acre of ground how they can justify it i dont know

not so much sugar levels have to calculate out silage use for the college and how much to take first cut and second and analysis on three sample and write up about them, think ive it finished now but they want 1200 words and i can only muster 700 so she can shove it if she dont like it

so when the crows are eating there way through your standing barley crop and flying round your sheds eating the barley and meal in the shed and making a mess with dropings what are you going to do i would rather shoot a couple of crows and hang them up to scare off the rest than shoot 2 or 3 every day yes you can use gas powered barley bangers but they aint stupid they soon figure out its harmless all be it noisy, i dont like shooting to kill something but some times needs must

what easier way they are pests we poison rats and mice after all

have done this myself hang one at each end of the cattle house to stop them eatting the meal in the mix its bloody expensve you know

this was in profi a while ago i think the balers are driven from the combines hydraulics and there is a shock absorbing drawbar running upto the combine's front axle.
