Wow... Interesting mate. As far ad I know the filters are self cleaning allmost if the temperature is kept high so that the particles are burnt off. The temperature is kept high by keeping a constant loaf on the engine. Swing and roundabouts really... http://www.deere.co.uk/en_GB/info_fun/press_room/press_room/2010/jun/it4.html

What's wrong with the 7530 mate? Hmmmmm, I think your dealer may be a bit miss informed or miss quoted.... :-/

Both systems have benefits and drawbacks but the biggest one for advlue is you are then subject to urea prices..... And need to set up a new fuel storage system....
  4. Looking good Rich but why is it being sold to Norway? Why don't the people in Norway buy one there??

Plus you need a new tank to hold the urea mate. And that needs to be protected from the freezing temperatures. Where did you get the £8000 figure from? If it was my choice I would take a 7530 premium with autopwr mate but I'm biased. the Deere system is not new technology either. We will use a Diesel Particulate Filter that is used on nearly every diesel car. New Holland for a fact will use a Diesel Particulate Filter on their smaller engines and Ad Blue for tue larger ones so be very careful what your looking at mate. Also check who is supplying the technology, all I can say is the Deere system is designed and supported by Deere Power Systems not an external supplier.
  6. 50 plants now As far as i understand Paul, laser cut and painted?? I will probably struggle hammering them together with my bratwurst fingers....
  7. Tris, i just ordered 2 packs to go infront of my "dirty" forager, pictures when they are built Sorry, make that 2 packs plus one packet of 42 plants..... that makes 50 plants..... Pics when they arrive....
  8. As always... a fantastic story to go with the pictures...
  9. Yes mate it is... So..... this topic has changed into a real BFF topic.... full of posts about modifying a tractor that will end up with the customer complaining about something... Never mind.... proving interesting reading....

Course mate. Just make your way to Manmheim
  12. That gear box is fitted with gearing to go either 40 or 50 kph Matty. Only way to change it is to fit different gears or up the revs... Sorry mate but speaking from experience here. Nice to see all the sensible answer though. Well done you lot.

Thanks marky, nice to know we can all agree to disagree.... It's a shame Gav, the 30 series really have got over the issues they had in the past and I can say that the machines rolling out from across the road to where I sit are much better and have all issues ironed out.... And.... if you did order one I would go and make sure it was put together by the best and most special people, I would even make a personal check down the line.... Or you can come and visit and watch it being built ;) Now there's an offer All said and done, good luck mate!!
  14. Thanks for the support. I just think these kind of topics are more related to The British Farming forum and not the Farm TOYS forum......

Did you have a deere out finally mate or not?
  16. What exactly do you mean matty? Having personally taken powerquad's and the A,B,C,D,E range boxes apart several times I can assure you there is NO WAY to speed up your gear box and no such thing as a restrictor cable. I have to say in my opinion trying to speed up tractors is a STUPID idea in my eyes.... the next thing is then you will complain that the fuel consumption has increased.... If you want a faster tractor buy one that is equipped for the job, Unimog, Fastrac etc. Oh and by the way, if you do speed them up, make sure you check and prepare what ever is behind. Also make sure you check that the tyre manufacturer has designed the tyres to go at that speed. Also i suggest you change the drawbar for a more transport related one where the pulling forces and wear is designed differently, oh and then you will need to change the trailer drawbars. I am sorry to sound harsh but it annoys me when these kind of topics are started. All said and done, good luck, hope that we don't see a topic in the future where you tried something and then another topic appears talking about the tractors reliability and fuel consumption.......... Good luck
  17. I won't hold my breath..... I expect another crappy plastic out of proportion Deere. Sorry but I haven't bought a Britains model in many many many years. However..... I look forward to being pleasantly surprised
  18. Well that's the plan Sean. It's quite a drive so we'll see. I really hope so as it will be great to see you all!

  21. The Dewulf looks like it would drop the potatoes a long way into the trailer?? The Grimme looks like you would be able to lower the elevator into the bottom of thetrailer and reduce the drop height. Great interesting photos though thanks.
