been unloading lorries and tractors with trailers at the local auction mart in preperation for the machinery sale on saturday.
-
That would indeed be the very same layby.
Do you how much acreage these guys farm? They seem to farm just about everything between Newmachar and Danestone, with exception of the stuff Middleton looks after.
they have more acres than you think, they have 2 or 3 farms at kinmuck and 1 at blackburn and theres always rumors of more. they probably would have at least 3000 acres, they also rent alot of grass during the summer and a few cattle courts during the winter. we used to rent them half of our cattle court it was always good going to their main farm for feed as there was nearly always something new to look at.

Yes.
i think i'm going to have to watch my back, there may be photos of me appearing hear next
-
i'm pretty sure thats my bosses swather in that pic, was it taken not far from udny station phil?
-
sure do phil did alot of tubelinning for these guys over the summer, a good mate of mine used to drive that 140 but hes now left to go to an oil related job.
Am i right in thinking those pics were taken at the lay by just outside Newmachar?

No rest for the wicked then A?!!
no, the worst thing is ive more or less been twidling my thumbs all week cause there wasnt much doing, then a mad rush this morning.
-
gritting car parks between 4am and 6am witha massey 6470 and kuhn gritter, then after that on call for de icing at aberdeen airport with a Tm155 and sprayer, then away to clip cattle in the next hour or so.
-
spreading slurry, then carting straw.
-
Yes it was a Benzies out fit, working over beside Elgin i think. Do they grow carrotts as well?
yes they do grow carrots as well.
They grow a lot of acres of tatties, not quite sure exactly how much but its at least 700 acres stretching from Aberdeen to Nairn. were they lifting with the self propelled harvester when you saw them?
-
Updates are included - Does anyone have the gold Deutz tractors? if so can they confirm if they are a Ltd ed or Ltd Qty. If Ltd Ed they should have the qty underneath - WOuld anyone be kind enough to confirm the number on the bottom of the model.
Thanks
nothing on the model that i can see, the box says special edition \ hope this is of some help

saw this the other day, a car doing about 40mph up the hard shoulder pulling a trailer with a burst tyre with smoke pouring out of it
-
followed a trailer like that a couple of weeks back and couldnt for the life of me work out what it was for, had an incling that it had something to do with tatties as the tractor pulling it had the name of a big tattie grower in our neck of the woods emblazened across the front of it, at least i know now what its for
by any chance was that Benzies? i was carting tatties for them last year and they had 3 of those trailers, stewart flat trailer with larrington hopper on top. only problem with them is that if the hopper is to full the excess tatties go everywhere

-
that looks like hrn tractors at insch, they have usually got quite a large stock of machinery, they probably would have quite a few larger models sitting about.
-

the sale is at thainstone mart mate.
dont think its going to be a big sale this time though only unloaded half an artic of junk, 2 pallets of lock block, 7 bags of fire wood and a shear grab \. the other drivers didnt have much to do either mind you there could be a big rush over the next 2 days.
-
collected my car in the morning, then went tubelinning straw in the afternoon, off to drive a telescopic loader for a few days now, unloading trailers and lorries at the auction mart theres a machinery sale at the weekend although most of the stuff usually would be better going to the scrap yard :

Sounds great mate, really sorry I missed it......Did they have the T8040's on Vaderstad Drills as I saw one on the A90 today and I can't think of anyone round here who runs one...... ;)
Yip the t8040's had vaderstad drills on, most of the newhollands at the show were coupled to vaderstad implements, only other newholland that sticks in my mind was a tm190 with 3 furrow plough on the front and 5 or 6 furrows on the back.
What did you see today that made you laugh?

today while loading machinery and junk after the sale at the local market, a man arriving and spending 10 minutes looking for a bench saw that he bought before remembering he picked it up yesterday :D
then the numpty that asked if i could fit a 6 foot high cattle crush into the back of a 4 foot 6 high milk float type lorry. :
