  1. Oh Bugger!!!! Ive just seen pic of new 8330 on french website & Britains have done what i didnt expect! theyve put the rear wheel weights on it! Guess who went out & bought a JD7930 USA model for ?18 which features rear wheel weights because he was convinced that the 8330 wouldnt have them on & he would have to do a conversion useing a donor tractor ggrrrrrrr!! Still i will have to remove that front linkage & replace with front weight and maybe change tyres over to siku ones , but otherwise it looks perfect to replace my 7920 & pull the forthcomeing 7F Kv plough
  2. Personally it suits me if britains just make tractors (compare their vaderstad drill to new UH version) I prefer to run a carpet farm instead of just collecting (its cheaper) I have two JD6920 (convos) a new 7430 & 7530 all SIKU And then 4 britains tractors NH T7040(eu convo) JD7830(convo) JD7920(convo) CASE magnum 310. I will only buy tractors from my favourite three makers JD, NH & Case so im unlikely to buy any UH tractor! however I love the UH implements & intend to buy more in future as there realism also improves the look of the britains tractor pulling them
  3. nice effort 936, may I suggest that too properly finish it of you paint the cab lights silver & the background matt black as per the real machine I promise you this final detailing really enhances look of the 7530
  4. Does anyone else think Siku put out to many front linkage implements? I live on the edge of the fens here in east anglia & I dont see anywhere near as much front mounted kit as 10yrs ago! Obviously its much more popular in Germany To be honest theres little hear to get too excited about especially when compared to the fabulous models UH have planned for 2008 However I am in the market for a pair of tip top 18ton twin axle grain trailers & that new Brantner might be just the job Anyone heard of any UK users?? No doubt the JCB will be good and the Claas forage harvester is outstanding but I must say Im very dissapointed that there is no new Massey :'(
  5. I know I may whinge a bit but unfortunately when it comes to my collection I like things to look exactly right! Im not collecting too sell later, if I think I can make it look more realistic I will try (checkout my new JD7430 & 7830 on recent conversion listings) even if it means pulling it apart first Sadly the JCB is too small to match with my Britains/Siku JD tractors on the carpet farm, but it does look nice on the mantlepiece I was hopeing Joals 1/35 would be very close to a UH or Ros 1/32 scale telehandler but its not \
  6. Any news on when bucket version scorpion is arriving??
  7. I got the one with the forks from PECKS (main JCB) it was last one left out of a very limited stock They are expecting bucket version soon. Smashing little model , The bad news for me is it really is 1/35 size and is a good 10% smaller than the MERLO \ When in reality the 531-70 is a bigger machine than the Merlo! This means it looks far too small on the carpet farm :'( And sadly will have to live on the mantlepiece instead :'( :'( So chaps whens the 1/32 Scorpion with the bucket on the front arriving, ive got a job for it
  8. Thanks for the kind words For my next project Im going to find some tyres to fit on my 7530 that arent 4ft wide
  9. WHERE DID YOU GET IT FROM?????
  10. Oh I forgot a few other details, I painted the wheels with lemon yellow enamel paint, had to fill the front ones with milliput first. 3 coats & then painted whell nuts silver Also when rear wheels are off I paint underside of mudguards & area hidden by wheels matt black and finally on cab painted lights silver & background mattblack , same as real thing
  11. I was quite confident that a 7430 would make its way to Agritechnica show (who wasnt!) but I wasnt expecting it to have new 4 post cab & stainless steel exhaust:D that was a bonus I was however dissapointed that the new UH Amazone sprayer hasnt appeared yet as I was keen too match it up with 7430 & replace the less detailed Hardi \ Oh well I will have to be patient I guess. Hope you like the pics
  12. You may also be wondering wheres the front chassis piece that covers over the front axle?? Well I dont like it & found it is easy to hacksaw off behind the axle and yet not lose any screw fixings this I think you will all agree leaves a more realistic uncluttered appearance beneath front weight You will also see that ive screwed on the front weight (nicely made by PDC) and therefore It can easily be removed for flexibility
  13. The wheels look right on this model now (which is more than I can say for oversized originals ) but I do have a big gripe about them I had to drill them out! And no matter how careful i was (and im a carpenter) I couldnt get them drilled accurately, so now they "wobble badly" when moving Now PDC in his defence suggested they be drilled on one of those highly accurate press drills! Well who has one of them too hand \ May I politely reccommend that in future they are all pre drilled accurately for customers convienience before sale;)
  14. I made a few changes too the tractor as well which included removing the nob patching &filling hole with miliput and then painting area with JD paint which annoyingly is different shade to siku JD paint I decided to fit a phone antenna just to the side of this area to draw my attention away from paint mismatch!
  15. Hi folks, Recently I bought spec. edition of Siku JD7430 with the intention of replaceing one of my 6920s on the carpet farm To be precise the new tractor will takeover as the sprayer tractor in the new year I fitted a set of PDC wheels to get the right look
  16. It was supposed to be mid 2006!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Last I heard mid 2008 > I want a pair of these for the carpet farm and im getting v.impatient (bloomin spaniards )
  17. Hi All, My one cost ?25 + vat and included a lot of nonsense like oil drums, minature trctor & JD mower! That lot will stay in the box \ There were a few more available so be quick! Im not sure too many collectors have cottened on to the fact this model has new four post cab on it I had intended too just buy the 7430 if they had it but as usual these days I ended up leaving with a JD7930 dualled tyre version a JD Hi vis vest for work & a new JD7920 rubber key fob & ring A big kid in a sweetshop basically
  18. Personally Rory I only buy the one magazine (yours) this is because (A) its ussually v.good ( buying a competitor may involve duplication of some CT articles as well. I also think your main competitor puts all its emphasis on ancient tractors! I prefer a mix of old &newish models plus fleet profiles, auctions , toy corner etc. A couple of tractors built in the eighties that were popular or impressive that havent seen coverage too my knowledge yet are Masseys 3650 (147hp) not to be confused with upgraded 3655! And also John Deeres 160hp 4450! It would be nice too see a piece on these in future publications I do believe a farmer outside of Ely on the Chatteris road runs the classic MF (and a few small ones) which was the biggest in the range when introduced in May87 keep up the good work
  19. And heres real tractor with stainless steel exhaust Sweet isnt it
  20. Heres poor quality pic of the real thing with new cab.
  21. All thats needed now is a makeover, too include removal of awful knob \front linkage replaced with a weight & tyre change to something more realistically sized!
  22. Upgrades include new style panorama cab (much nicer) stainless steel exhaust pipe green painted rear linkage, more in cab detail &silver painted lights
  23. Popped into Ben Burgess JD dealership yesterday & look what was just put on shelf
  24. Who would have thought that a Brantner power tube was a grain trailer \ On the bright side it has same style monoque body as new 18ton Krampe kipper! So with a little paint & some transfers a Krampe might be on the way
