Powerstarâ„¢
Another picture from the civilpek archive. Here's a MF 8270 which he only briefly had a go on because it was the farm managers tractor
Guest Fendt pwr
Now shes a nice tractor prob walks away with that 6 furrow.
civilpek
she was pushing out around 260hp, and your right the plough was no bother for her, it was a very dry summer that year ie 2003 and there was dust rising from the plough, had a job to break up the earth after with the power harrow as it just came out of the ground in big hard lumps
Powerstarâ„¢
I always think the cabs don't look good on those bigger tractors, none the less, I have to admit it's one smart tractor.
Tractorman810
it's the same with all the big tractors now powerstar, but i guess the driver needs less space than the 260hp lump in front
Powerstarâ„¢
JD 7920 has a well shaped cab full of glass, lovely working atmosphere. I always think MF cabs are a little on the cramped side. Compare a 3000 series MF to a 3000 series JD. JD had the edge back then too. Even the 4245 I drive still feels cramped compared to the JD 6000 series.
Tractorman810
you know why jd's have big cabs don't you, remember the burger king bird, well imagine how big her farmer hubby is,there's your answer :D :D :D :D
Powerstarâ„¢
Take it you don't have a serious answer then JD 1-0 MF :D
Tractorman810
mmmmmm, but true? :D :D some of the big valtras i see round here seem to have small cabs to,so prehaps it's a agco group thing?
civilpek
my problem with the 6290 was there was no where for realing storing stuff in the cab, ie my lunch bag, if i put it hehind the seet it used slide back to my feet almost immediatel compared to the jd 6810 i have now theres a way more room
Powerstarâ„¢
I think it is an Agco thing. All the JD's I have driven always have spacious cabs and a sense of good lighting.
Pingu
I found the cab on the 8240 i drove plenty big enough it would cope with me and my mate in the cab when he had a break more than comfortably i just either whacked my lunch bag behind the seat never came out i loved it one of the best cabs i've been in i aint tryed a recent JD but still love the current cab more than enough room
Powerstarâ„¢
I think NCC will back me up on this but the JD 6020 cabs are great, plenty of room and very spacious. Nice comfortable environment.
FB
I think NCC will back me up on this but the JD 6020 cabs are great, plenty of room and very spacious. Nice comfortable environment. i guess they need to be comfortable considering the amount of hours and type of work you do in them all day ???. (Another reason the traffic cops have volvos, supposed to be comfy for them when sitting on the fat asses!! :D )
Powerstarâ„¢
The same work you do in all makes of tractors FB No excuses for other manufacturers, JD have the edge on cabs and comfort, no doubt about it. I've driven a selection and JD is top with Case coming second. I'll dig out a picture of the Case CX80 we have at college.
civilpek
i wouldnt say jd are the most comfortable, my 6810 has air seat, but no way does it come close to a new holland 8360 or 8560, from the same years ie 99 they are way way more comfortable, and the tm's are even better
NewHolland2
i wouldnt say jd are the most comfortable, my 6810 has air seat, but no way does it come close to a new holland 8360 or 8560, from the same years ie 99 they are way way more comfortable, and the tm's are even better ahhh, the New Holland 60 Series...... jdc
I've still got an 8360 and I think the cab is one of the best, but... the Renault RZ cab is the smoothest tractor I have ever driven. Couple that with front suspension and it's better than my car (car is a bit ropey )
Gav836
I've still got an 8360 and I think the cab is one of the best, but... the Renault RZ cab is the smoothest tractor I have ever driven. Couple that with front suspension and it's better than my car (car is a bit ropey ) I'll agree with you on that one. Our 8560 has a comfortable cab but my Renault 836 comes top every time with the front axle suspension and cab suspension, definately gives a smoother ride than the Case Magnum that it replaced
Powerstarâ„¢
JD 6820 just has the edge on the TM140. Whilst the Ford 6640 comes up worse than the MF 4245.
NCC
Case cabs are comfortable and always have been I think. JD 6020 aren't bad, quite spacious but not the best by far. I'd say the fastracs and Valtras are some of the best at the moment :)
jdc
Had demos of a couple of Valtras recently and only criticism would be they are comparatively noisy - did like elec. timed spools though
