35TH SCOTTISH TRANSPORT EXTRAVAGANZA GLAMIS CASTLE 11 / 12 JULY 2009

Well this Saturday and Sunday sees the 35th Rally at Glamis Castle between Forfar and Cupar Angus. I have been exhibiting at this show since 1985 and only missed one year when it was cancelled in early 2000 ish the year with the foot and mouth. The rally is open to exhibitors on Saturday only and is open to the public from 9am on the Sunday. I have my 1951 Farmall Cub entererd and dad has my 1948 MG 2 crawler entered.I don't know if we will be taking both down since that will be weather dependant. If likely to be rainy will only take the MG2 since it travels in it mini curtainsider. Dad is now in his 80th year so he isnt as fit as he used to be so effectively taking two exhibts to shows now is more work for me.

Anyone at least one of these will be there

Well on Saturday the weather forecast was none too good for the Angus area so I decided that only the MG 2 crawler would make the 55 mile trip to Glamis.

Made an early start just after 5 am and it was dry but dull at Drumoak. The rain came on at Stonehaven and it poured and poured. It actually only went off at Glamis between 10.30 and 11 am. I had not unloaded when it was raining and then after all that time dad was not very keen on unloading so the MG 2 only;y went for a run to Glamis and back this year. never mind at least she hasn't broken her 25 years of being towed to Glamis ;D ;D

Things did brighten up but it was very wet underfoot and I had to be pushed out by around half a dozen marshall's and gosh was my car and trailer wheels dirty.

Anyway on with some pictures from the show

very nice Bill thanks for posting them, just one thing that 1955 Fordson diesel major looks a bit odd ???

Was that where I posted the LA Case twice Mark.  Can you have a look again and see if I have corrected it ??? ???
