jordantaylor
cheers texas, it was not exactly nice taking the pictures as the wind kep blowing the offspray of the pig slurry into my face, but to get the best pics i had to get close to the machinery. jordantaylor
the self feed on a wet morning. we are mainly giving them silage at the moment as they are inside to save them churning up the pasture.
Deere-est
Well I have never seen those concrete sleepers used like that before, what a brilliant idea!!
tractorbob
been using them round cheshire for years one farmer has put down over 20,000 over the years .. handy for when its wet
Deere-est
Can you get them double length like the timber sleepers? I guess hey wouldn't be as strong as hey for wider though \
tractorbob
most ive seen are concerete..think they used to be £1 each.. dearer now though farmers use them for extended grazing or for tanking slurry when wet in winter
Deere-est
Yeah I know, what I mean is with the timber sleepers you can get single track width or double track width from points/crossings etc. I wonder if these being single type concrete ones, whether you can get double width concrete ones thus making a wider trackway... Tractorman810
steve would be able to tell you tris, given he does a fair bit of rail work, have a feeling you can as they are doing work down here at the min, and some sleepers o nthe wagons look a lot longer then normal
tractorbob
the farmer down the road only could get single sleepers so what he did was put them side by side by every gateway ,he also had electric fences running by the side of them save the cows straying off them
1/32 farmer
to ans tris question in a nut shell yes you can but they are hard to find as they are very heavy and usualy broken up to load on the trains they are now made in wot they call modular sections or smaller sections and join together and you will only find long slepers on train crossings and points but now even thes are cut up to go on carriges to be scraped as for were you can buy these thing I have no ideere
