Tractorman810
i would suggest he checks with the dealer hes buying the mowers from what hp they require, then see what his tractor puts out, pretty simple basic stuff to be honest that i would have thought all farmers do when buying kit? i know my uncles did when buying new kit

geordie
it will depend on how flat the fields are,how heavy the crop is and the acres per day you want to cut .we run triple mowers on a fendt 936 and i have front and rear mowers on an axion 820 which is the same horse power approximately

Deere-est
There is a chap in my area running a 7530 on front mower with rear butterflies. I can't tell you the width as I have only seen it from afar. I'm guessing around 9m? Havn't heard anything bad about it and when I saw it, it was in a half decent crop of permenant pasture on a bank and doing pretty well. Shorten
the fella i used to work for used to have a case mx 270 with triple mowers, which had plenty of power, but he only kept it for 2 years because it was too awkward

MasseyMc
well i did hear a 300hp tractor and mowers are better than a big M. Can't comment on that one as no one runs butterflies on tractors here, big M's are better on the hills for stability IMO.
