What are the best options for cutting brass and plastruct/plastic

MuirHillyBilly

Question

Hi everyone

I am looking at making one purchase for two jobs; cutting both plastruct and brass very cleanly and accurately, can anyone suggest the best option for this? I have looked in the tools area of the forum but it's not too clear which option is best, or the most cost effective. If push came to shove I would drop the need for cutting brass and concentrate on plastruct. Also while we are on the subject what it the best glue for plastruct?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Regards

Lee

i guess for both like that a proxon table saw would be better, just plastic i would say a good sharp hobby knife, a metal ruler  for main panel parts, for angles cuts on smaller profile plastic ect, you can get a cutting blade on a arm, basicly a stanley blade, it  swings round and sets for consistant cuts, they can be found on ebay no worrys, thats where mine came from , jigsaw i would think is way to harsh, but may be ok on sheet brass??

I have the already mentioned Proxxon table saw and i think it works just fine!

I can cut brass metal and plastic card with it and it is a clean cut.

Only the thing is you can only cut straight line´s and no curved angle´s
