BC
Today I left home at 4.30 am with a temperature and arrived at Lanark Mart 150 miles later at 7.20am where it was minus 2 degrees. It wasn't long before the sun was up and it was a lovely day. I honestly don't know where the time went. A few photos from the sale but I not sure if all were sold...if not it is the price bid too. Fordson Major with factory Holman single cylinder compressor - wasn't sold but I did not get the price. The next lot was described as a MF35X with V5 for spares or repair. Dug out of a bog from the island of Uist or somewhere. It was sold fro £ 450 A MF135 GST959F made £ 1,620 An Austin A35 and Austin A30 were not sold at £300 A 1949 Ferguson TEA 20 P/P was unsold at £ 900 An MF165 with loader bucket & graip ( D Reg) made £ 2,
BC
A 1964 Super Dexta and loader made £ 1,500 A very tidy looking McCormick International 434 made £ 2,300 A 1952 Fordson Major with new tyres made £ 1,400 A 1930 Barford Perkins 3Drum roller went to £ 1,000 but I do not know if it was sold I did not get the price of this Ferguson Diesel TEF20 Leyland 344 went to £ 720 but again I don't know if it was sold. BC
A 1950 Ferguson TE20 went to £ 700 but I don't know if it sold A 1967 International with loader and back actor was unsold at £ 900 Kenny Beeton unloading a MF135 presumably for the MF display. And another MF135
BC
The next tractor being unloaded by Kenny Beeton is a 1938 McCormick Deering Farmall F.14. This tractor was preceded by the Farmall F12 and superced by the Farmall B and 31903 were produced. It was bought new by Kenny's employers Dundas Chemical Company new in 1938 for £ 325 on steel wheels and was used on a 300 acre farm. The engine has been replaced and the steel wheels are long gone. A International B250 was unsold at £ 1,100 A 1951 Massey Harris 44 Diesel was unsold at £ 2,700 The number of tractors in for sale were way down on previous years and many did not sell
BC
Into the Symington Suite and the model exhibits. Promoting two Scottish model shows for 2013 Gretna in March and Aberdeen in May and also advertising Model Farmer and Tractors Plant and machinery. I am not going to show too many of the model photos since I plan to do a small article for the next edition of Model Farmer. Damian and Hazel were back and two lovely Volvo lorries have been added to their display Andrew Anderson also had a lorry and drag on his display and it was good to see he had secured the load with ratchet straps Joe Dewar was there attending and displaying for the first time and center piece of his display was Big bud Well that's it for day one of the show. Tomorrow I will need to get my skates on and get pictures of the indoor and outdoor tractors plus of course the lorries or " the wagons" for Damian and Hazel ;D
