Guest Fendt pwr
Thanks guys That old thing gets along at 8kph @ 1990rpm with 5% wheel slip.Yes the soil in this area is light and easy to work. You could pull it faster than 8 kph but the disc makes a beter job at 8 than 10+. The tractor is one of the newer 716's (no TMS still) and is 160hp.There is a few differances between this tractor and the older 716 on the carrot digger. JC
Nice pics again Ol. I've often wondered what the smaller disc on the outside edge is for....... Any ideas anyone??
Guest Fendt pwr
It's just to tidy up your last round, being 1/2 the size it only moves the soil that was thrown out to far. I use the disc like a one-way plough because of the soil throw to one side.Frist put in 4 strike-outs then do 4 rounds a round and around then fill the last gap between the lands in going a round and around that way you don't get ridges of soil because all the soil from the last round has been thrown in to the last cut out of the disc.
