Tractorman810
I have found getting stuff to look aged is harder than you think, slowly getting the hang of it, the house being the best effort so far, hopefully I can learn more with the other buildings with luck. Stabliofarmer
I keep collecting tips from the model railway sites, just waiting on time or to get the right materials to try most of them out. This blog http://iainrobinsonmodels.blogspot.co.uk/ is always good for tips, tricks and just getting generally motivate to build. Some really good stuff on ageing in there! Stabliofarmer
Some more photos from a few weeks ago, everyone helping move sheep from the lower ground near the river to the collecting fields ready to go in the shed to lamb. Need to move the trailer first though Thanks for looking

Stabliofarmer
It is yes, little small next to the Britains but out of the cheap 110's around its the closest scale wise and a nicer model than the britains actually
Tractorman810
I have seen them about and often wondered if they were OK, as they do say 1/32 on the boxes, have seen some ford capris and others from them to, perfect for my layout age wise, so might try one out

Stabliofarmer
More photos, this time moving the sheep into the lambing shed but first the Swaldales must be seperated from our mules as they'll happly lamb in the lower walled fields and only need to come into the sheds if theres a complication. Stabliofarmer
Sat down and had a little try with the dolls house realistic brick compund today after getting the adhesive that I needed for the stencil, very happy with the result so far, next test I will paint the background morter colour and try to line up the stencil better so it appears seemless. Mark Birkett
Looking good stablio, is that the 1:24 scale stencil? They make a good job. I used them after i made the buildings and found it tricky working the stencils into corners. Perhaps it may have been easier applying the compound before i put the buildings together. Practice makes perfect i guess.
Stabliofarmer
It's the 1/32 scale stencils so very pleased it worked as its not recommended for the compound. Certainly going to apply it before putting the buildings together as I struggled enough with a flat plane sheet never mind anything at an angle or awkward to reach place, also want it on both sides of the wall so that should be easier with a flat piece than the built building. Tractorman810
That looks impressive James, can it be applied to any surface ? And what compound is it ect
Stabliofarmer
I think ideally the material has to be abit porous to get a good adhesion but not 100% on that, I know it needs a layer of matt varnish to properly secure it to any material. The one I've used is the grey/neutral from Bromley Craft products http://www.craft-products.com/realistic-brick-compound.a
Tractorman810
Looks a handy product, what do you use for a template then ?? , would make at least one build I fancy doing a lot easier than I thought
