Niels
The new 2013 Thriplow Farms annual report is now oline. I think this will make an interesting read for some of us on this forum. I always look out to it and David Walston did a good job living up to his father. Also brightening the annual reports with new topics and photographs: http://www.thriplow-farms.co.uk/annual/2013.pdf You can find all the older annual reports on their website: http://www.thriplow-farms.co.uk/ and some lovely old photographs: http://www.thriplow-farms.co.uk/gallery.html

bluegreen
No mention of their machinery this year so I guess its still 3 Fendts and a Claas combine......................................I remember the good ole days when they had a charismatic fleet of big JD 50 series including a 4850, 4250 and 4050 if I remember correctly
robbo
They were also one of the few UK farm to run 2 Schluters at one time, shame they never caught on.
SPN
No mention of their machinery this year so I guess its still 3 Fendts and a Claas combine......................................I remember the good ole days when they had a charismatic fleet of big JD 50 series including a 4850, 4250 and 4050 if I remember correctly It's almost like they don't realise that the sole purpose of the crops and the animals is to provide something for the machinery to do! We should write and complain. The current fleet, as far as I am aware, consists of 3 Fendts (714, 818 and 930) and a Cat Challenger. I remember the even better days when they ran a fleet of Fords. A 3000, five 5000s, three 6600s, a 7600 and an 8600. The glory days of agriculture.
SPN
They were also one of the few UK farm to run 2 Schluters at one time, shame they never caught on. My records show 6 Schluters. Two 7800s in 1978, Two 5000s in 1979, and Two others in 1980.

Niels
Show more of your records SPN! You certainly caught my interest. I think your spot on with the Fendt 714, 820, 930 MT 765C and a Lesbian 760? They have gone on a machinery diet somewhat. Much easier managing 900ha nowadays than it was 30-40 years ago. Probably a new Lexion if anything? Seems what everyone does.
CX820Joe
you can find that info if you trawl back through the reports back to 1974. The book 35 Harvests also has some photos of the Schluters amongst a lot of other tackle the farm has run over the years. In OW's old book 'Outbursts' he mentions machinery buying as one of his favourite pastimes
