Jd6320driver
Both are well built and detailed with their various good and bad points. the Kuhn is a good rake if it is to be displayed on a tractor with a uh style linkage but I've changed my one to fit a wiking style hitch. The Kuhn folds and unfolds as the real one does and also has a working steering axle. The only problem is that the rotors are fixed and don't rotate. The liner also requires modifications but this time to the arms the rotors sit on as they sit too high in the travel position and require a small amount of cutting and the complete stripping of the rake to rectify the problem. The Claas also has moving rotors with positionable arms and a working steering axle

SPN
Thanks Hugh. Very helpful. I'm surprised the rotors on the Kuhn don't rotate for the price of it.
bluegreen
The Claas is nicer, but the Kuhn is still a good model...................................I'm currently deciding which one to buy, but I will want it to go behind a UH style hitch, which will mean some modifications if I buy the claas.....................unless it does fit in place on a UH linkage, although it doesn't look like it. SPN
What is the width of each rake in the working position? I think the Claas may be undersized.
Paul Palmer
Stan, the 2900 is 8 to 9 metres the 2600 is 6.2 to 6.8,wiking made 2 different versions, wiking wise I think they are identical except for obviously the the 26/2900 decals, but I might be wrong, the Kuhn not sure
CX820Joe
So can you increase the working width/transport height - am assuming that bit that holds the rotors can slide along the arm to an extent - and it looks as though in Hughs photos he has extended the distance they can move along the arm? b_emmons
the wiking claas has extending arms
