Youre spot on Phil. Dont mind Marky what would he know working on masseys? ::) ::) Black smoke is unburnt fuel (unburned hydrocarbons in the trade ;)). I always thought white smoke was head gasket trouble ie. water getting into the cylinders, and blue smoke is caused by the engine burning oil (the lubricating kind) 8)

Thanks i had a feeling i was right and considering marky was an engineer worrying that he got it wrong  :-\ :-\  otherwise why would you get black smoke when revving up ???:D :D
