Deere-est
yes thats the one there is a barn at the front that the roof has collapsed about what time where you there then \ was on of them a manitou? with a bale spike \ Come to think of it yes, it was a Manitou not a JCB. Turned in left just behind me then I could see it through the hedge the other side of a grass field. There was a rough Fastrac hauling a dump trailer too, a 2135 or something. Deere-est
A week or two ago we had a pollarding job to do on the trading estate in Westbury, cherry picker and the chipper at the ready for this one. Then last weekend we had a hedge to hit back hard in Warminster as a resident had recieved complaint from the Council about it restricting the pavement. Deere-est
Right, some new pics from the phone for you all. First up is a night run I did for Comet back in December I think it was. Volvo FM12 380 at 38t with a 16ft double decker Night run to Hedgend, Southampton. The Truck. Comet at Westbury. Warehouse, part of it anyway. Deere-est
Sorry about the size of the pics guys I didn't resize them before uploading to PB. Here are some of Traci's Dad doing a job - three 70ft Conifers which had to come down at a stately home. I was on the chipper, nice easy work. Tracis Dad though, he is the flippin' kiddy at this tree climbing malarky!! The Tools, well some of them anyway. The first tree. Making a start. Traci's dad tieing a line for me to pull the top out. With him he has an extendable hook pole and the extenadable chainsaw (Power Pruner).
Deere-est
Tea break The Arbor Eater chipper. More coming down. Ariel work done. Just the trunk to go, which was logged from top to bottom.
Deere-est
The next two. No access for the cherry picker this time so Traci's Dad climbed them, lopping the branches off as he went, the climbed back down logging as he came.

Deere-est
I can't complain Graeme I must admit. Will be a bit less on the tree side from now on though. Farm work is picking up, I have the agencey to please as Comet was the last work I did for them back in December too.

rich.new holland
a Q for you how do you put the first line up ?? ive been racking my brains out and the only way i could come up with was climb to the top and hook/ trie it \
Deere-est
Your right, with conifer it is the only way. Other tree's you can tie the rope to a small log and throw it - hit or miss like. Traci's dad has spikes on his boot's and a harness so he climbs up, loops the rope round and throws it down, then climbs down and cut's the tree off above him so that the bottom of the cut piece can't kick back and hit him.
