graham Posted January 19, 2008 Author Share Posted January 19, 2008 the farm with the jd combine has about 600acres arable some of the older members may remember this farm it was originally hughey batchelors farm famous for cutting down trees and running big county tractors the one with the new holland combine has 1700 acres arable and is down on rommney marsh in the last round of foot and mouth they thought they had it here but it was not , 300 cows there two ,just putting in teat dip and flushing system in the parlour Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

graham Posted February 2, 2008 Author Share Posted February 2, 2008 work been busy tris on dairy side milk price helps but a lot getting bigger , that big diet feeder feeds 650 milking cows , but do service work on 800 cow place got fendts even one on yard scraper went ther the other day but card on camera was full so pics another day they have worked out they prouduce between 13,000 and 15,000 ton of the mucky stuff a year from the 800 cows, : Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

graham Posted February 2, 2008 Author Share Posted February 2, 2008 you do not realise how much they have to deal with do you amazing amounts , i think by this time next year they will be self sufficent in electiric , got to put slurry seperator in ,which then feeds a diegester which produces methane which runs an engine which produces electric , he will spread dirty water only ,it will happen on this particullar farm it will be a good project to follow through. they do graze the cows mate but most chose to stay in \ Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
