James T Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 Unfortunately I don't have a photograph, but I saw this on a British TV programme in the '80's. It might have been a JF, similar to a Fieldfarer, but the 'unique' feature was that it had a reel on it. Rather odd looking thing! Ring any bells? Quote

Graeme Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 Gehl made reel mower conditioners. Also New Holland did a couple I think. Here`s a site that might jog your memory http://www.consignall.ca/browse/browseListings.php?subCategoryID=6 Quote
Gav836 Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 Taarup also made one with a reel on, my friends had one on their farm in the early 80's Quote
James T Posted October 15, 2007 Author Posted October 15, 2007 Thanks, the NH looks quite like what I saw. Quote

the other green Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 Well now, I've dealt with a few of those dealers The little NH 479 towards the bottom of the page, we've had 4 of those since we came to Canada. Kinda high maintenance but they get the job done. Sickle-cut machines are no use when the crop is wet and tangled or worse still, when there are mole hills in the hay field, hence the growing popularity of disc mowers. Quote
rabh7840 Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 it wouldnt have been a PZ by any chance? Quote
Powerstarâ„¢ Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 Don't think PZ make mowers that big or with a reel, the biggest mowers they did were the PZ-Zweegers trailed 10ft mowers I believe. Quote
rabh7840 Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 we had 1 of them in the 80's we driv it with a david brown 1690 turbo good combination then! Quote
