Tractorman810 Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 I use drink stirers for mine look in the ash tree farm topic or leverets fm topics in model farm area near the end off both topics Quote
powerrabbit Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 I would say that wooden lollipop sticks would be a good bet, you can get them in the likes of hardware stores that sell kitchen utensils and party stuff. Just cut the rounded ends off and you could stain them down a pale green to simulate tannalised boards with watered down food colouring or if you want a more weathered look stain them with tea or coffee. Just an idea! Quote
Tractorman810 Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 They are a little thick width wise tim but yes they would work Quote

jcb4cxkid Posted January 14, 2008 Author Posted January 14, 2008 how big should i make the gap inbetween the slats Quote
Tractorman810 Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 i take it they have warped outwards slightly so you have gaps between them ?? you could glue each one and hold them, in with a small clamp and some spare sticks to spread the load, or leave them Quote
jcb4cxkid Posted January 14, 2008 Author Posted January 14, 2008 well i used super glue it drys really quick so you have to line it up before you put it on Quote
Tractorman810 Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 i spaced mine with a scrap bit cut to the width i wanted to show ,then just held it on centerl along the borad fixed last then dabbed a bit of glue on each end to hold the new one which i butted against my tempalte one, then, once set i glued the center from inside, that way each board is roughly right, although some are smaller than others ect, so it added to the effect Quote
jcb4cxkid Posted January 14, 2008 Author Posted January 14, 2008 here it is one is smaller back what do you think Quote
Tractorman810 Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 that looks good to me mate, after all they aint always straight are they, nails go rusty and planks slip over time, try that method i said, maybe fit one, then use another on its side between them to act as a spacer, just dont glue it in :D Quote
