Cultivator wanted!!

MODELFARMER

Recommended Posts

Ok Guys

I want a cultivator 3m

Discs leveling bars packer rollers

Amazone have one, or the simba x press,

Any other suggestions??

I want it for going over ploughing infront of the one pass if needed to break up soil rather than giving the field 2 runs with a power harrow

Suggestions and any for sale let me know please

Don't really wanna spend much more than 4K on it

Thanks

i used to use a mounted 3.5m simba toptilth, great machine ;) would do what your after ricky no problem, from memory he paid about £900 for it as no one wanted the 3 p-linkage ones as they are heavey when turning ,my jd 3040 had to turn using the foot brakes ;D

  • 2 weeks later...

How about making your own Ricky out of a number of other harrows - we are planning this at the moment - levelling board followed by 2/3 rows of spring tines and then a crumbler ;)

Would be the cheapest/easiest way - buy a cultivator at farm sale - frame with 3pt. linkage probably some tines etc  for little more than scrap value. Mind you that's about £150/tonne  ;D

Do you pull if a press on the side of your plough? I'm a fan of plough press, some guys over here pull zigzag harrows behind the plough press and that makes a nice job, your land might be a bit heavy for that but you get the idea.

Na

Our ground is light but we plough a few weeks a ahead of the drill so not ideal here
