NewHolland2
Well I finally got to get back behind the wheel of my Fergie today after it's engine strip-down and re-build in the Summer. It was brilliant and it performed just as you would expect from one of these brilliant little tractors. The clutch on this particular model can have it's moments but now I'm getting used to operating it again it was pretty smooth......Everything was in working order and for a 50 year old tractor the steering lock is incredible, when using the Steering Wheel Spinner I was surprised just how far the old girl could lock......Anyway it was brilliant fun to drive again and hopefully I'll get out more often now that it is up and running again...... Any questions feel free to ask...... ;) :) Cheers NewHolland2

NewHolland2
I got some pics when I was out with the Fergie today in the mist. Had the beacon on too. Will post a couple of them later if anyone's interested. :)

NewHolland2
Cheers Powerstar. ;) There aren't really any specific places for them on a Fergie, as you can imagine, so that's where I put it......
Powerstarâ„¢
Weld a verical pole on to the chassis stick it up there After hearing about your little outing, I feel I might start stripping down my major next summer. Got a few working days I would like to attend.
NewHolland2
That's an idea, no too original though. I've waited a long time for it to work agin and it's a pleasure to hear it start first time and be able to drive it. I would encourage you to get the Ford working Powerstar, it's well worth it in the end......keep us posted...... ;)
Powerstarâ„¢
Will do, needs a bit of mechanical attention, also looking out for new manifold as mines a Diesel Major with a Power Major manifold \ Front cowling and a rub down and patch up on the mudguards, new set of tyres (sting the wallet) and a 2 furrow Ransomes or set of drags or similar and i'll be away. With a lot less money though \
NewHolland2
Aye, money's the only problem of the restoration business. The Fergie really needs tyres, but I'm concentrating on the tinwork and lights and then when I have spare cash put new tyres on. The tyres on it will last a bit yet so they aren't really prioity...... :)
Powerstarâ„¢
Expensive game really. After the Major's restored I would like to do alot of working days, nice little spring tine wouldn't go a miss. Always a great sight a good old classic working day. NewHolland2
I think there is something in the law about roll-bars but I think you can get round it, not sure though...... \
