  1. Mr Purdue himself - looking relaxed before the big Irish show, Amanda was hiding behind the shelves! It was a bit difficult trying to get a good shot of the DBP stand, because as usual it was a bit busy around there. Now David Holden's stand of JCB's.
  2. Andrew Anderson from somewhere up there in Scotland - sorry Andrew but don't know where - brought his County display down. It was a little different this year as he had a harvesting theme rather than his usual forestry one, as well as his scratchbuilt buildings. Everything on his display has been fettled by him in some way.
  3. Now just in case Marky was feeling a little left out - young Liam Masons' dad Steve brought his collection of Massey Fergusons from Workington.
  4. Now its the turn of Mr Sam Ashton from Hornby, who had a fantastic display entitled "Motorway Muckshifting in the 1950's and 60's" He based his collection on machines that he had actually worked with, on road and motorway contruction throughout the 50's and 60's up and down the country. I think this was my favourite display of the day, as it was shown by a very knowledgable and interesting enthusiast, who could actually relate times and dates and roads to individual models!
  5. Sorry but no name for this one but a nice display from a true Caterpillar enthuiast.
  6. Peter Ferguson of Bellshill, North Lanarkshire had a nice display of Caterpillar, Euclid and Terex models on show. Then a big collection of Claas machines put together by Johnny Milburn and S D Frater.
  7. This display won 1st prize again, its Martin Littlefriar's 1/16th scale display, which includes an electrically powered working model of a combine. I think the models are scratchbuilt, I will check and modify this later if not!
  8. Sorry didn't get the name of this displays owner, but I can tell you that it was mainly made up of the old Britains lead figures. This is another of the Lancashire Lads - Andy - with his very busy muckshifting display.
  9. Now its father and son quarry enthusiasts Alfie & Andrew Thompson from Kendal. then young Liam Mason from Workington
  10. So we went up to the Rheged Centre at Penrith for Harold Powlton's show. It was an excellent show, which seemed to be really well attended. We met a few more of the forum members, it was good to put a few more names to faces. I didn't actually count the displays or trade stands, but there was certainly more of both than last year. So here are pictures of some of the displays and trade stands as promised. First of all its The Lancashire Lads and Lasses on Tour again!
  11. We are going up, and will be armed with the camera as usual, so we will take plenty of pics as well in Marks absence - we know its too far north for them southeners!!
  12. Plastruct mainly, but one of the loaders has got the arms off of a kids cheapo toy.
  13. The projects currently on the kitchen table are: 2 x County 654 conversions; 2 x Roadless 90's; 1 stone building; 2 x Shawnee Poole trailers. Its just hard to find the time to work on them - as well as going to work and model shows of course!
