  1. Update... stone work finished, all pointed up. Its been a very slow job, but I think it's been worth it. Next job is woodwork - windows, doors, floors and trusses. Then electrics and finally the roof. Still a lot of work to do, but winters coming (or is it here already!?)
  2. We also made the trek down to Shrewsbury for the show, and it was just as good as the other years - once again they had a good day with the weather on the Sunday. Just a quick point on the tractor pictured earlier and labeled as a fordson super major bray conversion - it is actually a County Super Four. It has been restored by the owner, who is a good friend of mine who restores Countys for a living. This tractor can be seen at many working tractor events up and down the country.
  3. All shapes, sizes and colours were well represented - about 60 tractors in total..
  4. Well yesterday actually but just too late last night to start posting pics etc.. We had a tractor run round our local area and up into the Dales. About 30 miles, mainly green lanes with the occasional road bit up around Coniston Hall, Gordale Scar, Airton and Kirby Malham, finishing up at the pub for a shandy. The route was very hard on the old machines, 'cos the top of the hill at Gordale Scar is 400m above sea level...you could see the plumes of black smoke well before the tractors came into sight! The scenery up there made the climb worth it though -as did the £700 raised for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance. This first lot show going up Gordale Scar...
  5. We are going again this year - Staying over Saturday night then off to the show Sunday morning..
  6. Great show last year so definitely going again this year. All indoor, good parking, even shops for the wife, but beware they were a bit pricey !! And of course all in aid of a good cause - Mountain Rescue.
  7. What a way to spend a day - clearing the stone pit out in the local river after the torrential rains.
  8. It's a grout that's bought from the stone suppliers, it's similar to tile grout but you make it up a lot runnier.
  9. No I don't work from photographs - just from out of my head. Buildings I see when I am out and about. If you do it that way then you can't go wrong, but I do like them to be built as a full size building should be, or at least that is my opinion anyway.
  10. A bit more progress made - but like I said at the beginning its a slow process...
  11. Just booked a room - looking forward to it already!!
  12. Got the chance to have a private viewing of a mates collection of classic tractors and machinery at the weekend. The wife can't complain that I never take her anywhere anymore!! These are just a few of the pics taken because I have had to make sure his name doesn't show anywhere 'cos he wants to keep his location private! I am sworn to secrecy......
  13. Go on then - just a few more - good job the wife took plenty (176 to be precise)
  14. No I didn't but the bloke sat on it did - and he owns all the others with the exception of the County 4000 FOUR which is mine. The Buck Rake is owned by Sugdens Contractors.
  15. No it has never had a respray. It just gets washed and polished weekly, and just very well looked after. It works daily for its keep.
  16. Hi Nashmach...it's a 5000 with a slurry tank on, and a 7000 in the top left hand corner of the picture. The 5000 has never been touched or resprayed, and is in near mint condition whilst still working daily. The 7000 has had a respray and also still works.
