  1. Not a genuine one ,I have bought a blue one and painted it yellow .
  2. The cheapest ones have come off ebay and the most expensive from toy fairs when I was a bit greener !
  3. Do you build many models ? Which manufacturers do you concentrate on ?
  4. yes .I'm glad I got stuck into this forum more recently . I've met some great people and shared some excellent info and saved a fortune because it keeps me off ebay !
  5. yes ,I am going to try and make some time to build a few conversions again to fund new purchases . I can't afford to collect without doing that or selling a few other models off .
  6. Yes thats just the same as me when I see a pic of a nice Fordson like the clockwork one in the other section . I've got to get one now .
  7. Jeepers thats a fair wedge ! I have swapped homes with my parents ,they needed somewhere smaller and we (me'wife and 3 kids) needed somewhere bigger . I bought a bungalow and my parents gave me their old house . We promptly knocked it down and rebuilt a new one in the same spot . Now everyones happy .
  8. Thats a bit more remote than us . In fact I have recently moved into the house I grew up in so my son is now digging all over the garden in search of my old toys ! So far we have only found a starsky and hutch ford torino !
  9. My best friend kept all of his Britains toys which spanned 1976-1985 in their boxes . It took me two years to buy them all off him (and around ?1500) but he collects corgi artics so he is glad of the dosh .
  10. yes I grew up in a small village ,the nearest town was 4 miles away (Ledbury) . There was a good toy shop and I can remember pestering my mum and dad to buy things . Pity I didn't look after them really . The only toys I have kept are my lego which my children now play with and my old train set .
  11. you did well to keep it that long, mine were all wrecked .
  12. Yes I agree there .I started collecting in 2000 and bought anything and everything ,then changed to just Britains . Now its mainly pre 1976 Britains ,I don't know where it will end !
  13. Yes theres an MF 595 ,MF 590 and an MF 595 with loader . I can just remember having MF 135 as a child but only vaguely but I do remember having 595 s. The 135 is a lovely little model I think .
  14. Another classic example is when I bought my first DDN I paid ?150 for a very tidy Powermajor on rubbers but have since bought them ,not so tidy for as little as ?35 .
  15. Yes in some cases I have been lucky but I have paid what I think was top money for others so it all swings around really . The second MF 135 Industrial cost me ?150
  16. You did very well there mate . The first one I bought off a friend in 2002 ,I paid him ?50 and he was seriously chuffed . It was just beer money to him and I ended up buying a load of stuff off him for ?450 in the end .
  17. Just to show I don't just collect Fordsons/Fords
  18. OK Mate your secrets safe with me . Mind you if my wife knew how much some of mine had really cost ....................it doesn't bear thinking about !
  19. For some reason ?42.00 comes to mind ,does that sound right OLD FORD ?
  20. Yes its true ,my mate who owns most of the conversions I have built is a tractor collector .He only collects tractors and when he bought up a big collection of Britains models I ended up buying or swapping the implements he didn't want .Thats how I came to get the green acrobat ,blue elevator,a blue muledozer and disc harrows and rollers in various colours .
