  1. Yeah, somehow they don't look the most robust of machines
  2. I don't actually work or live on the farm, I'm taking the photographs as part of a project (and part of a hobby too!) The farmer swears by the JD loader. Interestingly, the dairyman told me yesterday that the JD operating the Keenan was the one of the largest around those parts when it was bought new in the early '80's. How times have changed!
  3. Thanks, the NH looks quite like what I saw.
  4. Unfortunately I don't have a photograph, but I saw this on a British TV programme in the '80's. It might have been a JF, similar to a Fieldfarer, but the 'unique' feature was that it had a reel on it. Rather odd looking thing! Ring any bells?
  5. Hi guys, this farm is dairy: they mix silage, barley, supplements, brewing waste hence bucket/grab changeover. Weather was rather crap today for sure!
  6. Yup. It is very good quality soil in those parts, even the Forestry Commission think so, seeing as they have bought up a load of farmland to extend recreational woodlands Thanks for the comments about the photos guys. I'm off for a couple of weeks so will try my best to get some more taken and displayed on here.
  7. They were just finishing off the headlands and followed each other so that I could get a good shot of them both in the same photograph.
  8. Hi all - here's some shots from last weekend when wheat was being sown. Glorious weather, I'd actually go as far as to say too bright producing some glare from the plough, for example!
  9. Thanks for the heads up, Bill. I hope to make it along.
  10. What a superb series of shots. Thanks for sharing!
  11. Finally managed to get some time to sort out some photographs from last Sunday. Here they are, enjoy! No squinty bonnet/cab on this one :
  12. A complete joke, wasn't up to much in the first place!
  13. Attended the event yesterday morning. Rather quiet (mentioned by a couple of stall holders) but still plenty to keep the interest levels up. A pleasure to meet Bill and have a chat about all things Farm Toys Forumesque! I'd definitely try to attend on the Saturday rather than Sunday, but nevertheless still a worthwhile event. I've taken a few shots which I'll get round to posting hopefully this week. On the purchase front, limited myself to the UH Quadrant Baler and a superb book on the history of Claas.
  14. WARNING If anyone is heading back north over Forth Road Bridge or Kincardine Bridge, beware of severe delays. I spent 90 minutes travelling three miles to the former at 7 - 8.30pm tonight (and I wasn't even at the show today!). Usual efficiency - the bloody thing will fall down eventually and they haven't even decided on a replacement.
  15. Yeah, I feared for the worst too. What time is kick-off on both days?
  16. I went last year and it was excellent although I do agree with the comments about the indoor viewing. Hope to make it along on the Sunday.
  17. That'll make things a bit difficult at the headlands!
  18. Is it steerable or is the front axle fixed as on the 5000?
