  12. That's the problem, scrap is good at the moment. Took a couple of old batteries also. They entered the yard by driving through a fresh planted hedge then across a winter been field. The weights were on a pallet attached to a base weight and a-frame. They unbolted them and left the base and frame.

  17. Have driven 8-00, 20 and 30 series and can't recall there being a huge amount of difference. Main one being the roof. Apart from the thickness of it, the 00s had the front work lights moulded into it and the 20s didn't. The finner roof came along with the 30s. The front side light/ indicator stem may also be different as would be any other work lights. The cab steps were also different on the 00s as was the mudguard shape. I've plenty of photo's of an 8420 if they are any use to you.

    Tim's work

So far I have done about 1500 bales and used about 5 rolls of net and about 100 rolls of plastic. That comes to about £6000. Nope not to many as you say. We sell a fair bit of our clover lays to a couple of local beef yards which they get baled themselves.

    Tim's work

Used to have contractor to do the lot. But that still involved up to three of us loading in the field and carting in as they only had a static wrapper in the yard. After 2/3 years of poor service from them it was decided to get our own baler and mower, though the mower was put on hold. We now use a different contractor to do the mowing who also brings in the dung and spreads it. The next problem is that they are over loaded with mowing and are struggling to get to us so we shall have to wait and see.
