  1. ooh err missus :D thanks chaps , & chapette, will get more pics as time goes on , the cab will be going back on as & when i can afford the parts
  2. anyone notice the tractors at the show ? none of them have cabs ! seriously though , this won't be a rebuild , just a freshen up , with the hours as low as they are it doesn't really need it
  3. thats the plan mark , but news today is that the house has had the contracts exchanged & completion ready for the keys next monday , so the house will be priority to get it habitable soon as thats done the warmer weather will be here & then spend a bit more time on her , but yes the mudguard will have to be repaired before the cab goes back on. but at least the cab frame & windscreen surround can be prepared for a splash of paint !
  4. then we made our way across mad's dads lovely manicured grass & took it up to the lane for a quick blast
  5. & then it sort of looked like we had an hour or so spare so we found some more bolts & spanners & sort of ........
  6. was only planning to take the windscreen & front quater glass out & tidy up the loose roof fittings
  7. well i cant keep admiring the exhaust & pick up hitch , so seeing as i had some help today from rob(step son of sorts) we got a bit adventurous with the spanners
  8. you ever tried pulling teeth colm :D :D but was nice to hear what it'd done & from the sounds of it very little , but from a quick gander today i fear it may have done a bit more loader work than he's let on as one of the stub axles are severly worn ,more due to lack of grease really done a bit more to it today so will post more pics later
  9. just out of interest has smish still got his 3050 ? now that did look a smart tractor simon
  10. i have them tightend with a normal spanner at the moment , every time i got half way the head nut would start to thread it's way up to the casting , so wasn't gaining anything , so turned them the other way & it went ok , not too worried as it as good as retired so will be easy to keep an eye on them. managed to get hold of old owners son , not very talkative but the news is , the 1400 hrs are genuine the farm in question is a hill farm ,mainly sheep so not a great deal for a tractor to do !, most work for her was taking feed out for feeding in winter time a bit of dung spreading fert & occasional loader work the rear tyres are also original . wasnt going to press for anymore info as was loosing the will to live :D \
  11. still have the heavy duty drawbar john, & it is a very big improvement , chains were prone to stretching & then yer forever putting bolts in to take up the slack till new chains were fitted , of which they were very rarely replaced at all
  12. managed to get the auto hitch carrigde down & fit the 500 series parts one of the carridge baseplate bolts had worked loose so got that tightened up first off as with most tractors that are little used the top link bracket pins were in tight , was easier to unbolt the lower pto surround bracket to take out the old parts to fit the replacement parts as well as loosening the pins picture of the lift linkage fitted a complete 500 series auto hitch fitted working & complete with the hook as opposed to the drawbar
  13. was only a matter of time before you succumbed to the 1/16 convos mate looking good so far

    Insurance

kev i insured mine with NFU mutual , mine is covered for everything except agricultural contracting. i just asked for vintage tractor insurance it cost me ?47.25 for a comprehensive policy. description of use covers : pleasure, the insured's business,& for agricultural or forestry purposes, but excluding agricultural contracting purposes
  17. all good then kev , i even taxed mine today , woman was a bit non plussed when i explained it didn't need an mot certificate :D
  18. welcome to the forum marshman, we have every thing you want here & we havent then there's bound to be some one who can build it for you :)
  19. very good mark , full scale production or just the one off ?
  20. looks good jez , but errr, untill the door works it's not a door,i'll just say thats a great tin wall :D i think trying to get it to roll will test your patience but be very worthwhile , will be great if you manage to get it to happen :)
  21. a name it's a mill baler isn't it it so obviously got to be called MILLY
  22. ahh right , but i know for a fact you're not the only one to have that reason
  23. not anothwer foarager conversion :( i really will have to get mine done now :D looks very good mate , a 690 header i take it ? looks good to see a jag72 ? not many foragers had the hitch bogie round here but have hauled alongside a 72 with one fitted ,certainly takes a lot of stress away from the chopper & makes it a bit more stable for the chopper tractor , as it doesn't have the upward force of the drawbar on it . nice conversion mate
